Figure 3 National Championships and an 11 X All-American would be considered. But, at least the one guy disagrees from the dv up above I guess. Maybe young? Maybe doesn’t consider track a sport?
I don’t know if she’d make the final list; we’ve had some incredible individual athletes. But she’d be at the top my candidate list to start.

For example, you realize that the Honey Badger on Billy Cannon's 1959 team would make Billy Cannon look average from an athletic stand point, right?
Cannon was bigger (6’1”, 207 to 5’9”, 185), probably stronger and most likely faster. He ran a 9.4 100 yard dash, which converts to a 10.28 100m. That was less than .2 off of the world record at the time.
Cannon was an athlete that could have competed in any era.

How? He’d be starting on our basketball team as well. He was all state and shot the lights out.
Are you serious?

Billy Cannon ran a 9.4.

Cannon won the SEC championship at 100 meters and in the shot put. He was also an All SEC defensive back, in addition to his running back duties. Go back in time and rethink that.

To clarify, I don’t think he’s one of the top 10 athletes to ever attend LSU. I was pointing out that he’s a great athlete, not just a great QB.

You got way too many Caucasians on that list

Cannon never won the shot put. Please peruse the t&f media guide before making specious claims.

not just a great QB.
To be fair, he was first team All-State and had basketball offers.
pts - 17
rbs - 7
ast - 2
stl - 1.5
blk - .6
35% - 3 pt
That ain’t bad.
Not sure if OP has been clarified on “athlete” or best “player” but, I assume player is the only thing that makes sense for this list.
And J. Burrow, being one of the best QBs to ever play, is on the top 10 list if any QB is.

Billy Cannon was bigger, faster and stronger than Mathieu by a lot as far as size. His hands would crush yours during a handshake. Ran in the low 10 100 meters sub 9 100 yard dash. Played TE in the pro’s FWIW and was very good. The prisoners called him legend for a reason and never screwed with him. He was a BAD dude.
Tommy Casanova was bigger than the entire secondary not too long ago (Saw a pic taken long ago with the secondary that included Adams - he dwarfed them).

You can pick the order.
The best female “athlete” and one of best overall to ever step on the LSU campus was a young lady that was only at LSU in 2016-2017. From an overall accomplishment level as an athlete, I’m not sure anyone is close and I highly doubt she could be matched.
Single sport players are certainly listed and deserving to be called legendary in that particular sport but if we are talking overall athletic ability most listed on this thread would fall short.
