Benefield is a liability when the ball is in the air…

he looks extremely awkward when trying to play center field, when the ball is in the air and he has to track it down and make a play on it.
I would put him at star, and roll Thomas back deep…let’s see if Baker can see it

Jhase Thomas is our fastest and best cover safety. Ty is at his best playing the box wrecking havoc he’s out of his element when playing centerfielder

I’m making an observation and hoping a good, not great defensive coordinator can make some tweaks with his personnel now that they’ve been tested through the air.

Extremely ignorant. Liability? No. Is he a great Deep Safety ballhawk? No. He’s a great tackler and communicator. He was the second biggest difference maker behind Whit last night. We don’t have a lot of better option. In fact he’s our best safety now that Spears is out. Everyone else has much bigger flaws.

I honestly saw weakness in technique on several plays last night once again from Woodland. Same issue last year that Chambliss exploited. He gives a 12 yard cushion and does not recover fast enough in phase (technique) in my opinion. He is chasing a player way more often than he should zone or not.

He's not that bad but he's not the impact player I thought he'd be. All I saw from everyone who watched practices was this guy was better than Haulcey.
