As a cancer survivor (at least for now), I feel a degree of guilt for those who didn’t make it. I know that it’s irrational, but survivor’s guilt is a real thing.

While I often disagreed with Ben, our exchanges were always courteous and respectful.

He was the kind of guy I’d have loved to have gotten to watch an LSU game with.

I intend to offer prayers for his family in church later today, and hope Ben gets to see our Tigers win it all while having a beer with the Almighty himself.

God strikes me as more of a wine kind of guy, but I hope he cracks open a cold one with Ben when LSU takes the field in the NCG.

This is 100% true. It never goes away, for me.

We posters on the political board have followed Ben through this nightmare. I have prayed for his healing and now I pray for the peace that goes beyond understanding to his wife and family and friends. It was hard not letting posters who bashed him on other boards know what he was going through. Let this time be a time of reflection and a learning experience. None of us know what any of us are going through in our private lives. Ben stayed strong and posted about his love for his family, country and LSU until the end. Thank you Ben for your sharing your journey.

Ben and I use to get in some real dumbass arguments over the years. In the last year I reached out to him IRL to let him know I was here if he needed anything. Donated and shared his gofundme throughout my department. If there is one thing Firemen are good for it’s coming together to help people.
He was a really good guy...his post might have seemed on the angry side to those that didn’t know what he was battling.
He was an LSU fan to the core and never was ashamed to defend what he believed in.

Rest easy my friend, look over our tigers and I can’t wait to bump heads with you upstairs!

Absolutely! He was the anti-Negatiger. I am not calling out any one specifically because the reptiles know who they are. But he owned them B$%tches!! He was their daddy and spanked them in cyber world where the belt marks could be seen thousand miles away and the crying as well. RIP to a great Tiger!!!

He sounded like a great guy who would be the type you want in a fox hole next to you. And would back his buddy in an alley or a bar against any jerks who tried something. The world needs more true Tigers like him. It is our loss but heaven's gain:)>
