And dated Kendall Jenner. I'd say he's fine with not playing currently.
ehhh, depends.
if he truly loved the game it would in fact not sit well with him. but he never seemed to love basketball nor was he coachable, nor did he have the work ethic to become great.

Some people once they get paid don't have the drive for the game because maybe they just don't love it anymore and want to coast into retirement. He got his bag and is filthy rich and young and can do whatever he wants now. If that means not playing basketball, so be it. Definitely a waste for sure. Would have been a fun player to see at his ceiling.

He was only a fit on a team that he wasn’t depended on to score.
The Nets, on paper, built a team like that. Problem was, with all the injuries
they could never get that team on the court together.

He will go down as one of the players who wasted his talents. He could have been a HOF with his talent.
Absolutely not. Anyone who watched LSU basketball that year could have guessed he was going to flop. Anytime the game was on the line he wanted nothing to do with the basketball. He would instantly look to pass, he never had what it takes to make it in the NBA.

He certainly "had what it takes." Then he got hurt and got the yips and his career was over. Before that play against the Hawks, he was in line for a HOF career. He had all of those awards by the time he was 24.
He is still talented enough to run an offense and defend other teams' best players, but the price tag he would demand, with his injury history, isn't worth it.

he couldn't shoot.
Massive flaw for a primary ball handler.
He can shoot fairly well in practice. He cannot shoot in games. I think he's just mentally incredibly weak.

My question is - is Simmons actually right-handed and is that the cause of his poor shooting ability?
yes he is right-handed, and yes this has been a theory people have discussed since he was in college.

Remember back in 2018, Colin Cowherd suggested that the NBA didn’t need LeBron James anymore after the arrival of Ben Simmons ??
“I look at the NBA, which I’ve watched for decades, and I say this now with Ben Simmons, ‘Hey LeBron, we are good, bro. You can go..’ When I watch Ben Simmons play, it’s just something between LeBron and Magic. It is truly remarkable.”
Possibly one of the worst takes of all-time

That is more than Kelly has accomplished.
More than McMahon has accomplished
More than Woody has accomplished

What I noted is it got progressively worse as time went on to the point where he basically quit shooting unless it was a dunk or layup. It reminded me of Jon Lester in baseball where he would not throw to the bases at all - didn't matter if it was a pickoff move or a fielded bunt he just would not throw unless it was close enough for him to underhand toss. It became all mental.
Got so bad for Ben he became a defensive specialist to justify any time on the court at all.

What on earth does that have to do with what I posted?
Also, Woodward has hired 3 national championship winning coaches.

Did he ever develop a jump shot?

What an absolute loser. I've never disliked a former Tiger in my life but I'm ashamed that he even went here.
LSU should wipe away all memory of that lazy POS even going here

I'm convinced that Simmons hates basketball. I thought it was just that he hated LSU back in the day, but he's always been just such a loser.

He dogged it when he was at LSU.

Unemployed is the only roster he deserves to be on. He & JaMarcus Russell may be the same person.
