No offense but if I had his talent I doubt I'd waste my time going to class either if I was jumping to the nba next year. He probably stopped going to class when we were on the outside looking in for the tourney. My bet is if we go to the NIT, he's either academically ineligible or he decides to not even play at which the media would back him and jones and LSU would look even worse

It was a mistake ever getting the kid
A mistake on his part ever coming to a place like this, and a mistake on LSU's part in not having a plan in place to give this kid some incentive to give a frick
We're better off with kids that are gonna be about the program and be here 2-4 years
We're not UK. Jone and the staff isn't good enough to get that kid to buy into the program. From what I've seen we've already lost him
I can't blame Simmons, the system in place with 1-and-dones is stupid and he's just playing the game the AAU circuit tells the kids to play
To be honest the mentality of the whole program changed the second he got here. And not in a good way.

This isnt true. Spring academics have nothing to do with a basketball players eligibility. It was a story so Jones didn't have to say "I'm benching him because he called me and my coaching out in front of the team"

It was a mistake to take the number one player in the country, the first player taken in the draft, who has not been in any trouble while at LSU, has brought TONS of media attention to a mediocre program, and whose biggest fault all season has been to play TOO unselfish ???? And three up votes ? Jesus this place is full of retard.

This the problem with having a kid who obviously thinks he is better than the program he is playing in and is looking out for himself because he already knows he is gone.
Simmons play yesterday was horrible. You can blame Johnny Jones for certain things but Ben Simmons was a turnover machine yesterday and in transition he was just flat out lazy.
Some of you guys love Ben Simmons and dont like what I am saying but it is still true. I think some of the posters on this board are more fans of Ben Simmons than they are LSU.

While there is some validity to your criticism of Simmons, the problem is that this teams needed Simmons to carry the team. That's the problem.
Simmons being exactly who he is on a team with other parts is a very different scenario than the one we are in...where if he's not playing at player of the year level, this team isn't succeeding.
In other words, the criticism of Simmons is ridiculous. This is a team that can't defend and is crazy thin in the front court.

I have a question. I don't watch any basketball, college or pro,but I know Simmons is supposed to the top pick in the NBA draft this year. My question is, why? And is he as "can't miss" as Shaquille?
