There's really not much difference between 18-14 and 14-18 if you don't make the tournament either way.

So what you're yawning at isn't an honest answer?

Insecurity is a lot louder than confidence.

I'm yawning at lame fake PC answers in interviews. These type of answers are the reason I turn the channel anytime an athlete or coach interview airs on tv or radio.

Don't like his answers? Fair enough, but I'm glad he's honest. Sports is entertainment and PC interviews are useless and boring.

What do you want the number pick in the NBA Draft to say?

He will not diminish his NBA rankings. Say what you want about the kid, but he knows how to market himself.

Remember, he had a $100 million dollar shoe endorsement. Why should he say anyone else?

End of story.

Not entirely sure how to answer that. We'd be quite a bit worse. I'm not sure what issue you have with that statement, but I'm sure there's something.

Yeah, I don't get the whole "unlikeable" thing. Something tells me that there is nothing he could say that wouldn't cause our knuckle dragging fans to rake him over the coals. Fans are frustrated and I totally get that. But to pretend like Simmons is the problem is hilariously stupid.

Uh no. He's passive and not a good shooter. Ingram at Duke is a better player. Simmons needs a lot of work. Right now he's just another player that looks like he has the potential to be great but I think he lacks the killer instinct great players have

If it's not truthful, of course it is. You're asking him to lie. You think that's better. You're not comfortable with his true feelings and true thoughts so you want him to lie and spout the tyical empty platitudes that we usually get.

I don't care if he's humble or not. I'd rather he be honest. Humility probably makes for a better teammate, but it's not required, and if it's not genuine then I'd rather not hear it.

yesterday Ingram shot 25% from the field and scored 10 points. If Ben had a game like that, you would be raking him over the coals.

I understand where you're coming from with the media speak, but at this point I don't think Ben is the best player in cbb. Just my assessment after watching him for a full season. He may be the most athletic and talented of the crop, but as a refined, overall "best player" he leaves much to be desired.

He's a kid, and will undoubtedly get better, but there's a reason some coaches don't let true freshmen speak to media...

Why not?

He has the personality of a brick wall and plays disinterested basketball. I don't hate his guts or anything but he's done absolutely nothing for me to like him at all.

He's just some overhyped dude that used LSU for a year. He's a more talented Anthony Randolph. People will forget he played at LSU in 15 years.

Oh ok, fair enough. Yeah I don't know if he's the best player. Seems there are some well known holes in his game. Guess we'll see at the draft.

Him going number 1 overall will do more for LSU in the long run than his play has done for the team this year.

Without Simmons Quarterman plays much better this season in the alpha dog role.

Hornsby gets more looks and is a 18 ppg type guard, instead of being the 3rd or even 4th option as the best pure shooter on the roster.

Blakeney potentially flourishes in the role as The Man.

I could see us being worse for sure, but not significantly. We still wouldn't have a bench or any decent big men, but tbh it wouldn't be that much worse.

not really

top players aren't going to want to come here anyway. they know Simmons is an outlier for the program. if anything players will say "wow they weren't even competitive with the best player in the country"

He just let the guy from Kentucky shoot an uncontested layup in the first half, when he very easily could have made an attempt to block or foul him.

So that's why he is NBA ready.

Wow. What a difference a year makes.

Simmons was loved this time last year. Now most of y'all want nothing to do with him and Blakeney is the favored player.

If justified, mind you.

No, he does not have any endorsements, he is a college player.

He needs to learn to talk to the media in a hurry, because next year, everyone will be on his level skill wise, and he will need to catch up physically.

Simmons is pretty much a perfect NBA (and an even better FIBA) physical specimen, with his measurables, coordination and skill. But to me, he looks like a shell; everything there is to see about him as a player can be seen by watching him play. He is all book value, a very high floor, but with no material intangible value that will improve an entire squad. In other words, I don't see any sort of synergistic multiplier effect with him on the floor. Being that he is an LSU Tiger, I hope that he does round out at the next level and become a superstar, but I just don't see it. He is likely going to be the best player on his team again next year, unless he winds up on a team like the Pelicans, that already has a star player. Can you guys honestly see him turning a team like Philly or PHX around? Even the SAC Kings?
