Outplayed for 8.5 innings.

Thankfully there's 9.

If LSU scored 3 runs in the 6th and never trailed, no one would say that.

Yeah, it's always convenient (and lazy) for people to change their opinion of who deserved to win, based on what part of the game they did something.

Here's the truth: both teams played less than stellar, both teams' starting pitchers did well, both teams had one big inning, and both scored three runs on one swing. Ours just came late.

I don't consider that being outplayed for all but one inning. There isn't a clock, where one team is controlling possession, and the other team just gets a few lucky plays and wins. There are innings, and each had a separate big inning. But LSU also had a two run inning in the first, and led for the first 6 innings.

Not a crisp performance, but the better team still won.

Yes, he is.

LSU out scored Army, out hit Army, struck out almost twice as many Army batters and hit the only homerun in the game. Both teams committed one error and turned one double play.

I’m pretty sure Ben said what he said to just give praise to a service academy team who just suffered a painful walkoff loss.

I think that we have plenty of talent too, and I was happy to see Walker come back and look strong. I liked the relief pitching last night, and I thought Peterson looked good.
We have to get MUCH better at hitting and the defense wasn’t all world either.
I was hopeful that all the veterans and this top ranked recruiting class would be firing on all cylinders right out of the gate.
Beloso looks the part for sure

We haven’t played nearly our best baseball and we’re 2-0 after two games. I’d say let’s chill for a bit. Guess what... we’re gonna lose a game to a team we all think we’re better than. Give it a rest already

They made a regional last season after winning their conference thus securing an automatic bid. They are picked to repeat as conference champions again this season. So, it looks positive for them to play in the post season this year but not guaranteed.

We won’t win a trip to Omaha in the next few weeks. We definitely have some work to do, though. We need to be stronger earlier in the game. That said, it doesn’t really matter how you win. Especially this early in the season.

Relax, things are gonna sort themselves out. Guys will play themselves in the lineup and other will play themselves out of the lineup. They are going to become more consistent. Baseball is a grind not a sprint

Anyone impressed with what they saw overall in these first two games is crazy!

you are crazy for putting so much emphasis on February games. I saw some damn good pitching; and some damn bad pitching. I saw some damn good hitting and some damn bad hitting. I saw some damn good fielding and some damn bad fielding. what I saw was February baseball.

this LSU team has some top talent and will prove it over the season. and yes, I was impressed with a lot of what I saw.

this reveals your knowledge and experience, or rather the lack thereof, in the game of baseball. esp. college baseball.

Paul Manierie is in the process of developing his team and his players. At times this may not look like we want it to be. Hopefully in the process we win a lot of games but what is more important is can we win at tournament time. Hang in there Tiger fans!
