Yes aggie refers to Agricultural but the connotation that the term Aggie gets in this situation, is not an accurate representation of LSU.

Agricultural
In Texas, the University of Texas could not be bothered with Agricultural stuff ;-) They have a separate Texas A & M school. In Louisiana, we basically have one university. LSU has the Law School, Engineering, Fine Arts, Liberal Arts, etc. The whole spectrum.
Ole Miss, Alabama, and Florida are the "Lawyers and politicians" schools in their state. Other schools deal with the nuts and bolts topics like Agricultural or Engineering.
An Aggie is a graduate of an Agricultural school. Therefore every LSU Grad is an Aggie as well as a Tiger.

There's no way you could have graduated from LSU.

Just because you don't actually know where the term Aggie comes from does not mean it is not true.
from wikipedia
You will please note that LSU is also a Land-Grant university.
I get a kick out of people making fun of themselves because they do not understand the implications of their jokes.
