The same ones in this thread saying they won’t watch anyone outside of lsu are the ones who complain about ‘not having three stud starters’

frick the riff raff of college baseball. This is LSU. The last two teams to beat us had a lot better pitching depth than we did. Both had far better options to go to in deciding games. We had to depend on a guy having the game of his life while all but Ack and him choked.

That means the most successful program over the last 30 years and defending champs is behind other top programs in pitching, and has been for a few years. Who gives a frick if we share problems with Wofford, Evansville and Grand Canyon. This program should be equal to or better than the upper echelon of the sport.

I may watch it if it’s on but I’m not going looking for it. I’ll be getting ready for football now.

Fortunately, we got the Olympics this summer, July 26 - August 11th. I will definitely watch the Olympics. Glad that can help bridge the gap till football season.

Clown take my guy

Quick, without looking, give me the top three arms for Tennessee, Arkansas, UNC (we just played them, should be easy), Texas, Florida, and A&M

I bet you can’t do it

A little less than I watch other football games.

More than basketball.

ETA: I watch far less of other teams playing any sports than I once did.

I don’t have to. I couldn’t give less of a shite about UF, who was in the same position struggling all season. Or Arkansas or UT who are also sitting at home again. If you want to infer that our pitching staff this season is on the same planet as UNC or UTs top to bottom after playing one team 3 times and the other 4 this season, then you are the fricking clown here.

Past Jump and Holman, only Herring was consistent all season. Anderson developed nicely and should be really good next year, but that’s really where any praise has to stop with this staff.

Ack was good at times, but even he got a lot of quick hooks after falling apart in the middle of an inning, especially early. Little, who did improve over last year, couldn’t be counted on to pitch consistently, either. Helmers and Hurd came up big this week, but look back at the season. One hardly played and the other was a fricking head case and played far below his talent level. His performance Sunday shouldn’t have been a surprise.

Past them, it was just a grab bag of mediocrity. Hits and free bases everywhere. Do you seriously want to put guys like Dutton and Coleman up against any of these other staffs And they weren’t just back of the rotation guys. Both of them started games this season. That’s how mediocre and unreliable this staff is.

Carrying promising guys like Noot and Shores who couldn’t go this year didn’t help, but that still doesn’t excuse how few guys could be counted on to throw strikes and fill innings at an SEC-level.

My whole point is you have no clue what you’re talking about. You’re trying to compare LSU to everyone else, when everyone else is in the same boat!

The rant, every single year, has the talking point ‘we NEED three studs to start on the mound’… every single year this gets said by people who ONLY watch LSU. Guess what? Every single team except MAYBE one or two are in the same exact situation that LSU was in.

This isn’t madden bro. You can’t make dream team rosters where everyone is a 99 overall. You have the guys you have to work with and that’s it. Even last year when we won it all, we struggled until Omaha to find that mythical third guy

People like you have no clue what you’re talking about because you live in a fantasy world and only watch LSU baseball.

I will still keep watching. Once the NBA and NHL finals are over, Omaha is the last sports thing I really care about until football season starts.

I really want to care about MLB. I like the idea of being an MLB fan, but it's just hard for me to get invested in the regular season even when nothing else is on. It's more exciting once playoff races start in September and leading into the postseason in October. But the MLB's problem in that regard is that their most compelling games coincide with the start of football season. If playoff races started in July and the postseason was in August when all the other leagues are in the offseason I'd probably tune in more but alas
