I'd be.... Meh

It's a great achievement. No question. Kicking auburn in the dick in their house is a great feeling.

But I have been most impressed with the off the field changes.

The locker room interactions and team brotherhood is better.

You used to see a lot of cliques, I've noticed more random groups out and about around town.

The team is 100% behind the coaching staff. That hasn't happened in a long time.

Did I want a bigger name hire, yes.

Did we seemingly get w diamond in the rough, definitely.

O deserves a case of red bull.

You’d be meh about 3-0 and 2 victories over top 10 teams?

To be honest, I would've expected it.

Pump the brakes a little. Great win, let's keep it going before anointing O a "Diamond". 10-2 and we can have that talk.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG waaaaaaaaaaaaay to go

let's get another full body of work under us first then we can examine after two seasons. he will likely get a 3rd. he was hired to win hardware not maintain status quo. some seem to be forgetting this.

will he be able to replace coordinators like miles did on both sides of the ball? it is far from easy. that in itself could be anybody's downfall.

exhibit A: GERRY DINARDO O and D went to shite once morris watts and carl reese left

The truth is if Herman or Jimbo would have went 9-3 last year everybody would be saying they just need time.

I'm including all games where he was the coach. My memory is longer than a coked out squirrel.

First three games of this year have me wanted his name tattooed on my arse like Henry Winkler in waterboy.

Herman and Jimbo would 1) Bring in completely new staffs, therefore, 2) Be an admission that this was more than slight tweaking and that we needed to rebuild the program

Plus, they would be installing, most likely, completely different Offensive and Defensive schemes. So yes, that means, needing more time. O kept 40% of the staff in this place (and that number was higher last year), and one side of the ball is exactly the same.

What is O's record as interim at USC.
Also his recruiting at Miami and USC along with LSU.
He is solid. Easy to make fun. Let him settle on his staff, recruit players, and let the chips fall in a few seasons.
The savior at UCLA may need a few seasons.

I'd be much more impressed tbh. TAMU and Texas were in a much worse position personnel and coordinator wise when Herman and Jimbo showed up.

Expectations when we were coached by Les Miles was that we would beat Top 10 opponents in neutral sites and that we should be able to beat division rivals like Auburn on the road.

So in that sense, unless I lower my expectations of Orgeron, he isn't really doing anything unexpected. He exceeded my expectations in acquiring the transfer talent he's been able to sign like Burrow, D.Lewis, and Cole Tracy, in getting special teams additions like the kickoff guy, and in motivating the team to play to their capabilities in a road environment like Auburn. He's also had two signing classes with a ton of misses, the whole month of September last year, the Matt Canada decision, etc.

So yes, we've exceeded the predictions from the media, Vegas, and talking head analysts thus far but honestly, these aren't results I wouldn't also fully expect whoever took over to Miles to have.

If we beat Georgia and Bama, I’ll forgive him for the Troy loss.

Not necessarily. You hire someone like Jimbo or Herman to build their program. "Rebuild" is a misnomer, but that's the only word we have.

To reshape the program into something different than what it is.

That's not why you hire Ed Orgeron, nor should he be treated like that. Hence, different expectations on timelines. Someone who comes in and hires a completely new staff gets a few years to see if it works.
