OK, my bad. Geez, you guys are tough. I am not a troll, I have been a Tiger fan since the Jimmy Taylor days. Seriously, me (LSU '69) and my father (LSU '40) use to listen to the Tigers on the radio back in the 50's.
I know they always wear white. I got the purple jersey thing mixed up with the OOC games. And, I did read on the LSU site, but of course I can find it, that the school petitioned the SEC, or NCAA, or somebody, to wear the white unis at these OOC games.
I'm 65 years old. I guess my reading comprehension ain't what it use to be. LOL

It is actually true. Home jerseys, at least in the SEC, are the teams dark jersies. LSU actually did petition to the league to be allowed to wear white. They are allowed to as long as the visiting team agrees. That is almost 100 percent of the time but I remember a game or 2 in the nineties where I believe Ole Miss and maybe FL made us wear purple. I am almost 100 percent sure this is the case. And I have been a LSU fan or 50 years

White. Always white except for two cupcake non-conference games a year (this year NWS & WKY). Other than that, always white.
Mississippi State tried to make us where our dark colored jerseys one year which lead to Jerry Dinardo busting out the yellow ones. That was back in the Independence Bowl days.

I know the dark jerseys generally are home jerseys for SEC teams, we use the white ones for our home games.
I wasn't trying to be mean to you, man. That's why I said I was really asking.

Yup. LSU and Georgia Tech are the only two teams to wear white at home

Well here is an explanation. I did remember that in the 80's or 90's there was a rule. I copied and pasted an answer below.
The decision to wear white jerseys at home games was made by Coach Paul Dietzel (for no particular reason other than a fancy) in 1958. Since the LSU went on to win the national championship that season, the change was, perhaps, seen to be a goodluck charm and quickly became an LSU tradition.
In 1982, the NCAA enforced a ban on this practice which lasted 13 years. However, in 1995 the ban was challenged and the tradition restored (thanks to Coach Gerry DiNardo).
Afterwards, Coach Nick Satan, uh Saban, limited white jerseys to only the opening home game and those home games against SEC opponents.

Again, Thank you. I knew I read it somewhere about the white jerseys. But couldn't find it.
Way back when, the home team (high school)wore their colored jerseys, and the visiting team the white jerseys.

We're bringing our gold jerseys out of the attic for the big game

This. I remember FL making us do it too. I think it was Spurrier being a dick.
