just re-read your post. if you are referring to LSU and bama still being ranking higher in the bcs, then you are correct. LSU has that tiebreaker

This is what I'm saying. Arky could jump us in the human polls, but stay below us in the BCS because of the computers. The biggest problem in this is that in terms of the SEC CG this will be the last poll that counts. Voters will not have any time to correct. This is a problem because normally the only poll that counts is the last one so some voters may not be paying as close attention as they should and would if it were the last poll.

Then pinch yourself you'll probably wake up then. Georgia sucks. Their signiture win is beating Auburn. They had the easiest SEC Schedule of anybody. Florida, USCe and maybe Tennessee switch schedules they win the East.

WRT BCS outcomes, you are correct, but that's not true for the components. What the voters did is evidence of what may happen in similar situations.

Yes. Getting 3rd in the human polls is what I expect might happen if undefeated LSU loses to UGA. The wildcard is how many voters would put LSU over Bama at that point. The computers could be the difference there.

If LSU finishes the season undefeated they are in the BCSCG.

LSU will have wins and the same or better record than the next two best contenders even if OSU wins out and LSU loses.

LSU also would have by far the better resume. If they were left out it would be probably the biggest screw up ever in the BCS.

LSU is also on the verge of having the best season in college football in the modern era. It final poll could end up.

1. LSU 14-0 (win over OSU in NC)
2. Bama 12-1 (loss to LSU)
3. Oregon 13-1 (loss to LSU)
4. OSU 12-1 (loss to LSU)
5. Arkansas 11-2 (loss to LSU, Bama)

I have no doubt that USCe is the best team in the east, but Georgia did beat Florida and Tenn.

i don't think anyone is arguing that. the question is, are we still in if we're 12-1 w/ a SECCG loss to UGA.

My personal opinion is LSU has to win out to be in the BCSCG. I think the voters would make sure we didn't finish in the top two if we lost. Got to run the table, focus on that.

It actually appears that LSU would have a very good chance of making the BCSCG even if they lose the SECCG. The computers would have them ranked very high..and it would almost not matter how the polls split the votes.

The math I have seen indicates that the only way a 1 loss LSU gets jumped by Oregon or Alabama would be if the polls almost unanimously pick one or the other over LSU. If there is any kind of split..the computers favor LSU. On top of that..if OSU loses to OU, it would mean that 2, 1 loss teams would have move ahead of LSU, and that is even more unlikely.
Of course a bad loss to Arkansas (in my opinion unlikely) would make the situation more tenuous.

I agree with this. First thing on this whole thread that makes sense.

The whole point of my post was to clarify what would happen if 2 teams from the same conference were ranked #1 and #2 in BCS without winning conference title game. And LSU losing to UGA just happened to be the best scenario to compare it to at the present time. I have no doubt that we will beat UGA, but was just wondering if it was possible for 3 teams from the same conference to get into BCS
