in a close SEC Championship game with Bama and LSU possibly finishing 1 & 2 in BCS standings? Ok State would have to lose, but if Oklahoma doesn't jump LSU (assuming they win out) could the #2 team be left out of BCS championship. UGA gets an automatic bid and only 2 teams per conference can currently play in BCS games. What would happen to #2 team? Capital One bowl?

My personal opinion is LSU has to win out to be in the BCSCG. I think the voters would make sure we didn't finish in the top two if we lost. Got to run the table, focus on that.

If we lose to UGA, we piss Oregon and Bama fans off more by still going to the BCSNC game. Do you guys really think you will jump us if we are all one loss? We beat the crap out of you 40-13, that last TD was a gimme because we were playing prevent and killing the clock. Also, spare me the, "we spot you guys 21 points" bullshite talk. Did Standford spot you all those points with their 5 turnovers?
Also, we beat Bama at their home.

LSU in the title game if we make it to the SEC Championship Game.

I think LSU would have too strong of a hold in the computers to be bumped out. I think that would bump Bama out

i believe if there are two teams from the same conference in the top two spots and another wins the automatic bid then three teams can go. not 100% sure but i think i read that somewhere.

Assuming Bama wins out in that scenario and only has one loss, they would have the highest BCS ranking sitting at number 3. If Oklahoma State was undefeated, it would be Bama and Okie State playing for the national championship. LSU would get the Sugar Bowl as a consolation prize. Is it fair? No. But that's how the polls are set up.

I don't think so. Bama only quality win at that point will be against ark which we will have the same win plus we would have one more game than them. We will have beaten at least 3 top 15 teams most likely. The Penn St win won't count for much by year end.

LSU is 2 TD's better and deeper than UGA....

UGA avoided Bama, LSU and Arkansas this year... 3 of best best teams in the entire country....

they are improved no doubt about that, but LSU will handle them...

Yep. We go to the BCSCG, unless we get blown out by Georgia...like by 3-4 TDs.

Bama's only loss came in OT at home to the undefeated LSU team and they only lost by a field goal. If LSU creams Arkansas, but loses to UGA, Bama has the argument to keep Arkansas out. Of course, my mistake was assuming LSU would get the Sugar Bowl. That would go to UGA and LSU would get the Capital One Bowl after basically being pushed out of the BCS. LSU's only chance is to win out.

Possible, but not sure if it falls out that way. The voters won't push for it IMO unless lots of dominos fall.

It depends on how far we drop in the human polls and how close the vote is. With a shite load of 1 loss teams we could drop more than many think. The precedent here is 2003 when the voters put OK as low as they logically could, but because there were only 3 major one loss teams they were close enough. Our wins over OR and AL should keep us close to them regardless.

We will own the computers. Without looking at it a lot closer, I think OK would be a pretty solid #2, so there will be some cushion there for us to jump teams in the polls if the vote is close.

I honestly think LSU is in the BCSNCG even if LSU loses to UGA. LSU would still have the best resume and would have beaten the two most likely candidates head-to-head. Also, LSU will have played one more game than Bama and thus have one more win. It will be like 2003 when OU lost their championship game and still played in the BCSCG. I even think there's a chance LSU gets in if LSU loses to Arkansas, gets in the SECCG and beats UGA.
