What if Arky makes it to Atlanta, but gets beat by Georgia?

Are you saying that if Arky is 2 in the polls and LSU is 3, that our computer advantage would outweigh that and still put us at 2 in the BCS?

Yes, I am saying that exactly. I think the human polls are much closer than computer polls, thus giving the computers more effective weight than their nominal "1/3"

I think there is a real chance that LSU falls behind Arkansas in the BCS polls if LSU loses to Arkansas.

Maybe.

LSU can lose to UGA. Arky could NOT.

I'll say that it is now a complete possibility that I wrote off last nite that it could be an LSU/Arky rematch in the BCS

Arky beats LSU
OU beats OSU

You have to choose between Bama and LSU to go. I believe we would have the computer edge over Bama. The pollsters SHOULD rank us ahead of Bama since we beat them.

Who knows.

Have to see what happens. But it sure is fun to talk about

LSU needs to just take of business and punch their own ticket.

We play and defeat who the BCS tells us to play.

I still think OSU might end up #3 tomorrow. They'll likely be #2 in at least 4 out of the 6 polls from what I could tell (Colley, Sagarin, Billingsley, and Wolfe) because their leads in those are so big from Bama.

Furthermore, Arky will not be #4 on average in the computers. They will be #5 or worse in 3 of them.

The question tonight will depend on how the voters place Okie State after the loss. If they get at least fully 4th in the human polls, they'll still remain ahead of an Arkansas that is likely more than 2 full spots behind in the computer rankings.

If LSU beats Arky and UGA, and OSU beats OU, then I don't think people will put OSU behind VT, Boise, or Stanford and they'll clearly be #3. Then it will come down to those for and against a rematch. If OSU gets a solid #2 in the computers (which is likely), they'll only need 25%+1 of the voters in both human polls to put them in over Bama.

In this scenario, the SEC could have 3 teams playing in the BCS

It is the only way it can happen.

2 non-conference champs from the same conference in the BCS with the conference champ in the Sugar Bowl.

What. A. shite. Show.

Yeah, the key is if we lose it must be close, to create indecision among the voters.

But I certainly prefer us to win. And believe we will do so.

I think this only happens if other games go poorly. What do you think the human polls look like. Assume the Coaches poll with 65 voters. Lets pretend it looks like this:

1. Bama (+10 votes over Arky)
2. Arky (+20 votes over LSU)
3. LSU

Then LSU should be more than fine. LSU's computer ranking would be good enough.

What do you think the human polls look like?

And this is the REAL thing...

Either it's some rematch between LSU/Bama/Arky or one of those v. OSU.

I would agree with that. After I wrote 1,2,3 I started to think Ok State might be #3

Stanford needs to win the pac12 to really get back in the mix. If I am not mistaken, that would mean Oregon has to lose to Oregon state next week.

Even then, I am doubtful Stanford gets in the BCSNC

there could be some voters that rank Arkansas No. 1...they had to go on the road for both their big games...LSU and Bama had the luxury of playing at least one at home (Bama had two).

Arkansas, if they beat LSU, would have won 8 in a row.

Not saying that it will happen but there is an argument for Arkansas ranking well in the human polls.
