Armstrong had higher winning %. All I said
He didn’t though so again you’re wrong. Trying to act as if Wade’s first season there doesn’t exist is a weird way of being deceitful btw.

You added all the other shite.
I quoted you directly
And SOS is relative to that particular season and again Wade won 4 games vs tourney or P5 teams, including an NCAA tourney game, Mcneese has won 0 since he left and was blown out vs the ones they did face. So your “SOS” logic is as solid as wet tissue paper.

Ok so now explain how Will Wade got a reported 11-12 million dollar NIL budget(Top tier in the ACC) LINK, and finished 7th in the conference?
Lots of variables here. Which goes to my point questioning of his ability to coach at an elite level in this era. An actual a stronger conference the past 2 years previously? I believe that is a fair question. As I also said I think he will be good, but not great.

His only win vs those types of teams you mentioned in his last season, the only one we were talking about, was the win vs Clemson. You must be talking about his 2 seasons, interesting.

Yes because you don’t just get to omit things that don’t fit your bias. Jeez dude catch your head.

NIL numbers aren’t divulged to the public or the NCAA but he made the NCAA tourney after taking over a 12 win team that won 5 ACC games.

See, you don’t need all that nonsensical shite to make your point or voice a real concern. So he has won in this era although overwhelmingly at a smaller school. What we can point to is the 9 games they played vs top shelf opponents at Mcneese and the performance he defense showed vs that level. Holding those opponents to just 40.4% shooting and 71ppg which include Bama’s final 4 team and a strong Gonzaga team. His offense, as we saw with NC State still has plenty of punch and he remains a coach who pushes to replicate NBA style offenses. I’m not always crazy about that side of the ball but it is a philosophy that has worked. Now his defense at NC State was shite. I watched em, they played the same style that’s worked for him since 21-22 they just didn’t have anyone who had a taste for that end of the floor and didn’t have rim protection. I liked the freshman big they had but he was more power and quickness than length and shot blocking. So there are examples of success on both ends but not in the SEC and not a complete picture under NIL. I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t work since the personnel he’s brought in looks good and has a couple possible diamonds in the rough mixed with guys who’ve played at a higher level. We maybe thin at guard but we’ll have to wait and see how the waivers go.

Higher winning % when WW left. Won the conference championship and
still made the tournament. After losing all but 1 player. Not very much of a drop off was there?
TF? Are you like stupid? McNeese went the preceding ELEVEN seasons without a winning record before Wade arrived and he immediately turned the program around and brought them a 30-4 record and their third EVER NCAAT appearance. The next year, he delivers the school its first EVER NCAAT win.
Look give credit where credit is due, I love Armstrong and he deserves credit for maintaining what Wade built at McNeese but Wade BUILT THAT CULTURE AND COMMITMENT TO WINNING. He laid the foundation and blueprint and Armstrong is maintaining it - a branch off the Wade coaching tree.

I've read this 5 times and still can't figure out what you are saying
The AD was his biggest supporter. He gave wade the shot to get back at an ACC Div 1 program. Treated him great, and fought hard and did everything wade asked for, to keep him.
Wade left, and didn't have the common decency to even speak with the guy, even on a call
He left him hanging and then later had his agent call him. Didn't have the small fragment of class and respect to speak directly to him.
Period, end of story. Anything else you typed was a long winded way to avoid saying the obvious...hes a low class POS who will do whatever needed to cheat, lie, ....and eat obviously

Nicely said. And honest.

The Southland conference by in large is one of, if not, the worst basketball conferences in the country.
Yep. It didn't take a miracle to put a top conference team together. Few mill, NIL infancy, and a couple of studs to take the $ for the year or 2
Wade did that and did well
My problem with him is him, as a person. He cannot be trusted. I agree he'll be a nice change, but who wouldn't be at this point. Although, Mc was brought in to clean up things, and he did. He just didn't win much, and needed to go.
Guys here are so myopic. Yes, Wade was cheating..."but so were the other top coaches " yad yada. Exactly!!!, and they were getting the players, Wade included
Now they say "well he can legally pay them now, so hes gonna rule the world". Problem is that EVERYBODY can pay em now, which means they have a real choice, and they weren't choosing Wade. And they chose to leave when he was announced, and he had basically zero followers from recruits to NC St players. Thats troubling in these times. Young men had choices, and it wasnt him.
Now look at the shenanigans going on with the roster and nearly retired euro pros. No more recruiting and building players up, including local kids.
All things considered, it will end ugly..for whatever reason. I hope im completely wrong and that we win and bring back the excitement of LSU basketball

Nah you’re adding in seasons to make your point. That’s fine, but also unfair because Wade had twice the time to get those wins. To each his own though. My point remains.

he has not been hired to babysit your kids but to win basketball games, which he has proven he can do.

McNeese had a once in a lifetime opportunity and Wade was apart of that. He gets credit. You’re missing the entire point though. McNeese’s sustained success(even after losing all but one player from Wade’s team) after Wade’s departure. There wasn’t a massive drop off in the program. Others will nit pick, but it goes to show that a lot of his success was because they had raised a ton of money, my point continues when I ask why he underachieved in a bigger conference the next season with top tier money, playing a much harder schedule. It’s a fair question.

Huh? I didn't mention that, clown
But yes, if you go sit in a 17/18 yr olds home, you absolutely are telling that mother you will watch over her son as he becomes a man.

hired.....to win basketball games
Its almost like you just insinuated WW doesn't have to give a frick about the players, it's all about him and wins.
Thank you! It took you some mental gymnastics to say it, but you just verified what I've been screaming here....hes low character, hes about himself, and will sell out to win. And thats why he was thrown out to begin with

please review what was being responded to. It was expressly about McNeese 1 yr improvement. Thats when an SEC coach can go into a small town like that and make an immediate large splash.
I know I am telling you he also went into LSU and won the league in his 2nd year.
quote:
Again, about Mcneese
you can keep repeating its not impressive to win at mcneese if you want. I am telling you he turned a local SEC school you have heard of around as well.

ok well don't send your kids then. like I said you are not hiring to babysit YOUR kids.

he doesn't have to care about the players, but he does, as I described earlier.

I mean I don't know, don't follow NC State basketball, they did go on a slide after the UNC win but he led them back to the NCAAT after their prior season that got Keatts fired one year removed from their Cinderella Final Four run.
