SEC roundball is pretty bad...

The offense is good, it’s the players not executing it properly. Most of the games I have been watching looks like these players are trying to audition for the NBA. What a joke. No defense, no hustle, and no movement at all on offense. Dribble, dribble, shoot. Not a pass to the inside, all one on one. Give me the ball, it’s my turn to shoot. Coach needs to step in and start benching players. My way or the highway. I would rather see the last guy on the bench playing than the ones tat are playing. At least we know there going to try.

Legit question. Did we Curly Hallman here?

Made by Brett Favre. Made by Ja Morant

I worried about that but he actually had his best season without Morant

2015–16 17–14 10–6 T–1st (West) OVC No Morant

2016–17 Murray State 16–17 8–8 3rd (West) No Morant

2017–18 Murray State 26–6 16–2 1st NCAA Division I Round of 64 Morant on roster

2018–19 Murray State 28–5 16–2 T–1st NCAA Division I Round of 32 Morant on roster

2019–20 Murray State 23–9 15–3 T–1st No postseason held No Morant

2020–21 Murray State 13–13 10–10 T-5th No Morant

2021–22 Murray State 31–3 18–0 1st NCAA Division I Round of 32 No Morant

SO maybe Curley lite?

I hope he proves us all wrong, I just don't see much to give me hope.

Yeah, because that is the minimum MM will be here, one more year.

It was certainly not an immediate impact hire.
In time maybe he can recruit a roster and coach em, but when you have no roster you need an instant impact guy to restock the shelves with some decent players

Just who was that "impact " coach who was available and would have come here with possible draconian sanctions?

What makes you think MM will get any better going forward? Dude had a top 20 class THIS YEAR and I’ve never seen a worse offensive team. Recruiting class next year is garbage too. Good thing we got rid of that “street ball” coach huh?
He hasn't had a full recruiting cycle yet. That "Top 20" recruiting class were some highly ranked players that suddenly became available because there was a coaching change at their school. I think they have promise, but like most hs kids they can't make the jump to D1 in year 1. It is reasonable to expect some improvement next year. As for the 2023 class they were the best 2 available in a class that was mostly wrapped up. 2024 will be the first class that he can recruit for a full cycle and evaluate.

We will also see in April who is in the portal and hopefully get someone good out of it. I am just not sure how many spots we will have because I don't know who might be leaving.

Right now our starting lineup next year could be:
C Phillips
PF Fountain
SF Mwani / Reed
SG Hayes / Ward / M. Williams
PG Hill / Hannibal

Meant Mike Williams instead of Chest at sg
Also forgot about Hayes.

Chest is a PF, isn't he? Also, I thought we were losing both Hill and Hannibal but keeping Hayes. At this point, I'm not paying much attention. I'm just hoping to see more improvement from Phillips, Reed, and Ward.

So, Coach K's record his last 2 years at Army and first three years at Duke looked like this:

1979 Army
14-11

1980 Army
9-17

1981 Duke
17-13
6-8 (t5)
NIT

1982 Duke
10-17
4-10 (t6)

1983 Duke
11-17
3-11 (7)

Coach McMahon isn't going anywhere for at least 2 or 3 more years. I don't like the way the team is looking right now but I'm sure Duke fans were pretty dissatisfied with their team in K's first 3 years.

We'll see what happens and what McMahon is made of.

We will need four transfers because that roster won't break 45 ppg

You are right. I was thinking of the combo guard Williams.

As far as I know Hill and Hannibal have eligibility next year due to covid year. KJ is the only one out of eligibility. But obviously at least one player has to leave since we have two recruits signed.

We obviously would need several to improve. Getting a very good pg in the portal could fix a lot of things. Not sure who that could be...

Agree, players fault, Wade’s fault, Woodys fault, NCCA’s fault, prognosticators fault. The only one who’s blameless is the guy who’s fault it is. That’s the Rant in a nutshell.

Starting to think a lot of the low info posters on this board are bots are just plain retarded. Many are blaming everyone but who's fault it actually is to coach the team - the coach!
