re: Basketball roster

I’d caution against using websites to clarify the roster at this point. ESPN, ON3 still have players who’ve left and are at other schools still listed as not only signed and committed to LSU but enrolled at LSU. Right now rivals says we’ve got Ugo, Bashir, Diaboute, Nunez, Bender, Hudson, Niang, Dessert, Santos and Ruzick but they still include Luis and Vaughn. They’ve listed all our targets and just have status next to the names. Outside of Madar, I haven’t seen any news of anyone being ruled ineligible even though we know Luis almost certainly won’t be approved.

I’m worried we won’t be any good bc it’s taking too long to assemble a team. They are missing quality practice time and workouts.

If we have 9 or 10 players, why aren’t they listed on the roster on the basketball website?

Still too early to be alarmed by that. Wade had years where the roster wasn’t complete until August at LSU and official practices don’t start until September. Right now it’s summer workouts only.

We are looking at the official lsu sports page. Lsusports.net

Like I said depending on the site our players and roster varies. We still have Marcus Vaughn listed as enrolled on multiple sites even though he’s at ASU for example.

Who’s on the roster you saw?

So what you are saying is you are a simpleton and cannot see that the world doesn't operate on Tiger2tiga time. Got it.

Those are third party sites. I’m talking about the official website of LSU with the most updated information. There are only 4 players because they are officially lsu players. They have signed their paperwork. The others are just commitments. They haven’t signed anything yet.

I’ll ask again, what’s the website and which players are on the roster you saw?

So you believe the freshman forward we landed and the other one who’s playing both football and basketball are not playing for LSU basketball? Also the waiver process should be done in the next couple weeks and the appeals if necessary start July 31.

The football player won’t be available probably until football season over. And hopefully that will be at the end of January.

Mk you and Drizz starting fight again? ;)

This is NOTHING but me using deductive reasoning with what i think is going on.
I think Wade had a couple of early targets like possibly Haggerty, the NC st kid, and others that fell through. They probably couldn't agree on their monetary value. He did sign a few power 4 transfers, and I trust his evaluation skills on them.
I then believe Wade pivoted to the overseas players, and has seem to have done well with signing/committing a few of those.
All the while, I would bet he's (correctly) anticipated all of these 4 year guys being ruled eligible, and they'll probably end up numbering around 100, maybe more. Don't forget, he was the only major college HC that I'm aware of that attended the PIT where these 4 year guys were playing in front of NBA and foreign scouts.
He only needs about 3-4 of those dudes, and we're ready to roll. Keep in mind that most schools are close to full (especially with contributors), so the competition shouldn't be too stiff for them. We'd probably just need to outbid NBA rookie free agent pay.
I think all of the above is very plausible. What I'm certain of is that there's a high likelihood that Wade will have a talented team on the floor this season. If he doesn't, it would be an anomaly.

The point is you’re going off of an inaccurate representation of the roster. Bender is playing basketball for LSU but he’s not on LSU.Net right now. These other guys are here, the only one who could be denied is Santos because his clock runs out towards the end of the season but he’ll probably get the waiver anyway. I’m just not understanding what your concern is or why you’re so bullish on irrelevant things. It’s like you want the worst to happen just because.

Not at all, I just think there’s some misunderstanding and some trolling going on. Basketball is so much different than football with this type of thing. For example there’s really no date to finalize a college basketball roster. Technically there is but it’s December 1st so in the context we’re discussing, pre-season or pre semester, there isn’t.

Just busting your chops. Basketball is the black sheep of the lsu family. No matter what I’m still not confident I understand the regulations for this year.

I think we lucked out getting Bashir instead of Haggerty. I know he had the foot injury and there’s always that risk but at 100% I’d take our guy. I think our fans are going to fall in love when they see what he can do offensively.

Ah I know boss, didn’t mean to come off like I was snappy with you. I’m just excited, I know nothing is guaranteed but unless something goes terribly wrong, I love this team’s potential.
