Who was the radio broadcaster for LSU during the Maravich years. What became of him? I know it wasn't John Ferguson.

I do not know. I'm going to take a wild guess and say Walter Hill. He did color for football with Ferguson for a long time. I know Ferguson and Joe Dean did the TVS SEC game of the week. Did Ferguson not do the midweek basketball games or the early season hoops games ?

If it was Walter, he is still around retired and living in Baton Rouge. Got a raw deal from WBRZ who forced him into retirement after their consultant said to go with a youth movement.
I guewss that's the life in broadcasting.

It wasn't Hill either.
I thought that might give someone who maybe knew ,but wasn't going to post, the opportunity to roar in and correct someone.

The announcer was Bob Peters. He was not a homer, more of a neutral type - and pretty good at describing the amazing skills of Maravich, especially the famous run-out-the-clock dribbling clinic at Georgia.
Peters would let kids (I was in 7th grade) gather around his announcer table after the game and listen to his post-game interview with Coach Press Maravich.
Of course the highlight was getting Pistol Pete's autograph. You went in one at a time into the dressing room where it was just you and Pete. He signed "Pistol" Pete Maravich #23. Thinking back, it seemed lonely for him, but that must have been how he wanted it.

Didn't Dick Walcott announce games in Pete's last season?

This is my first ever post so wish me luck. I seem to remember an announcer named "Brad Brian" or something close to that while listening to Maravich's senior year. Anyone remember him?

Did he refer to Maravich layups as "snowbirds"?
