you could see some things to be worried about defensively. TSU got to their spots quite a bit with ease. They just didn't make the shots and/or had shots affected because of LSU's size/talent advantage. That advantage won't be there against major con. opponents.

There were many possessions that LSU got 95% of the way there and gave up a late bucket. That got much better as the game went on.

It's going to take some games for these players to gel and the coaches to know what works lineup and scheme-wise. Most of the issues I saw last night were miscommunications on responsibility or where the other guy was going to be, which is not unexpected at this point.

There's a couple websites that do CBB metrics, but I use EvanMiya

After 10 games make an observation. One game means nothing.

My minor observation is that Tarleton State Coach Billy Gillispie has been a big time coach at UTEP, Texas A&M, Kentucky and Texas Tech. He has had controversy with the way he handled his players but there is no doubt he knows the game.

I thought Tarleton did a good job in the first half with moving the ball on offense and offensive rebounding. I thought their defense wasn't a lack of effort or coaching scheme but for once LSU had better players and Tarleton just couldn't match up. Especially when our shots from three were falling with regularity. Hot shooting will win you a lot of games but it is doubtful we will be able to do this on a consistent basis when we hit teams that match up with us.

They still look completely dysfunctional on offense….Tarleton ran much better sets (their coach is Billy G)….they still look completely lost on defense and allow the ball to penetrate WAY too deep into the paint…

Basically they look like a better shooting, more athletic Matt McMahon coached team…which means they will get blown out by teams with commensurate or better talent…

Enjoy

Closers get the coffee and donuts. Losers like McMahon get called out exactly like he should be.

I gotta sure fire cure for his arse though. Start AND continue to keep winning at a high level.

Some people just want to hate. Some want Wade back and can't accept that that ship has sailed.

What will be telling is the battle cry they all get behind. Already they have been complaining that Zipper doesn't get enough playing time.
