You can't be us, Buckeye. I know that stings but you just have to accept reality.

I think you guys are taking buckeye's comment a little too far.

Sorry...respect is earned. He's got some good points in there but saying we're not deserving of a top-25 ranking at this point is showing a lack of bball knowledge and he's being called out on it. Yeah, we may be homers but look who's 9-1 in the SEC riding a 9-game (I think) winning streak. I'd say that's deserving of a little pollster love despite the OOC catastrophies.

Yeah, I didn't say LSU sucks or anything. Try going on any message board other than an LSU fan and stating LSU has at least a chance of going to the Sweet 16. They'll probably laugh you off the site. But I think it's possible.

OK, I'm liking you more and more with each post. I totally agree with you that anyone who states LSU will be in the sweet 16 on another board would be laughed off. I think we have a legit shot because of experience (5 seniors) and a never-say-die attitude inspite of the odds against them. I doubt they're F4 material but that's why we play the games.

I have heard a bunch of BS from ACC and B10 fans about this team on other boards. They never have a decent reply regarding why this team shouldn't be in the top 25. Yet, as an LSU fan this team continues to surpass my expectations. All I ask of any critic is to back up up such criticism, yet they fail to do so. I heard RPI and no big wins excuses earlier in the season, but those same frauds are now speechles when it comes to explaining their disdain. Funny and uplifting.

(Note: It's entirely possible, perhaps likely, though, that if I did take the time to look up resumes of potential top 25 teams, I could find 25 whose overall bodies of work are better than LSU's.)

Sorry I read this; I'll lose some sleep tonight worrying whether other basketball pundits, like yourself, will drop us out the Top 25. Damn.

I didn't say it wasn't (even though, the SEC as a whole is down). In fact, I even said LSU is a good team, and I think they could make some Tourney noise. My post was related to the idea that THIS GAME shows they are for real.
I agree with you Buckeye Fan. The feeling I felt after this win was more of relief than joy. Having to come from behind against an injury riddled, under manned Ole Miss team at home is not impressive and may not impress voters very much. I think this was a trap game though and for the Tigers to pull it out when they were obviously off is solid. But you are right this kind of win isn't really a benchmark win.

Explain how this particular game shows they are for real, please. It'd be like me saying a comeback win over Minnesota in football shows Ohio St's for real.

It's obviously not based on this one singe game, idiot.

Buckeye is pretty accurate in most of his posts...and this is no exception. We are simply NOT a Sweet Sixteen team..even WITH Bo Spencer. The SEC sucks in ways that are hard to describe, and we really dont have a signature win. Who have we beaten again? We arent deserving of a ranking imo. If we run the table and win the SEC tourney, then we should be ranked.

LSU is simply gonna have to keep winning. Then the rankings etc will come.

He's obviously responding to some ranter that said this game proves this team is for real. It simply proves that this team has been over acheiving and may really not be that good or at least that they are beatable.

OK, wise guy. Take a 7-man bench that is totally fried from a double-OT game Wed night, playing without their PG, manning up and getting down to business to win a game with guts and effort on an off-night. This team has balls and a will to win. If you've ever played sports you know these are important traits.

At the end, yes, to pull it out, but I don't see how you could say they played that way the whole game. I understand they were tired, and a little undermanned, but there's no way it should have been this close at home against a poor team like Ole Miss. Every team has games like this, though, including my sports teams, yours when you played, championship teams, etc, but it still happened.

As far as basketball goes, not this year. I like our team a lot. While I think LSU is good, I think we're better, just talking about this year. I think both teams have had good pasts, with periods of great success, but not great. Future's too hard to judge with b-ball, but I think both programs have great coaches.

Football- there are only three programs I'd trade OSU's BCS era for, LSU, UF, USC. I'd still take our overall past, though. Both teams have had great recruiting classes recently, solid coaches, and should be competing for conference and national titles for the considerable future.

Other sports, it varies. Sports like baseball, yes, I'd trade, but there are other sports I wouldn't trade with LSU in a million years.

Once you get into the tourney, anything can happen. Nothing really shocks me anymore, in the NCAA Tourney. Maybe mildly surprises me, but I'm never absolutely stunned anymore by anything that happens in the tourney.

Don't be a pussy. This team is being undercut due the the failures of the conference and the lack of big matchups. LSU teams that have made it to the sweet 16, elite 8 , and beyond have struggled in similar spots and lost. If this team flops when the time comes, I'll eat it, but I believe, and I've been around for a while.

Notice that I didn't attack you, buckeye. I just disagree with you. You have already surpassed many of the other B10 fans I have come across this season.

That's actually kind of funny. It sounds like you are being pretty passionate about a sport outside the big 3. If you say that we are almost even in football, you are a little better in basketball and we blow you away in baseball, what else is there that you so strongly stated you wouldn't trade for? Women's tennis, gynastics? Golf? Oh, wait I know: hockey!!! How many 'Frozen Fours' have you guys been too?

You dont belong on this board. You are too logical. But OSU has certainly been an outstanding program during the BCS. And over the long haul has been one of the top programs in history. As a kid I remember watching many OSU games when Woody was the coach. I hated Michigan and rooted for OSU in the big game. And I hated USC, so I rooted for OSU against them in the Rose Bowl also...but with not much success. If I were an OSU fan, I wouldnt trade my history for anyone's.

I should say, this isn't completely true. When a 16 finally beats a 1, or when a 13 or 14 makes the Final Four, or when a double digit seed wins the NC... something like that, THEN I'll be shocked. But other than that, nothing really shocks me.
