I agree. But I'm just saying if you blow a blood vessel everytime they give up a run you are gonna kill yourself.

Well, you complainers can complain all you like, but they looked a hell of a lot better tonight. Yes, the opponents were a bunch of chumps, and the sloppiness and lack of free throwing is still there, but they played better overall defense.

Good progress tonight.

Yep. Think we gave up 23 in the 1st half. That was exceptional

Not happy with how we finished, but we saw flashes of effort, rebounding, and solid defending. Still have a long way to go though and our biggest games of the season are coming up in the next couple of weeks

Dude that's just what our 3 early season wins vs cupcakes looked like. Exactly. You're missing the big picture. It shows the same exact pattern we've been in. Nothing changed. From coach to players-no matter the lineup.

Until this team can put together 2 good halves vs a team with a pulse- we've not moved forward at all.

Our fans- even the announcers- we all want this team to be good so badly but it's just not happening. This game showed nothing we haven't seen before. The ORU game and especially the Wake game will be another chance to show improvement. It's hard to believe we'll see it but here's to hoping.

And only 32 in the second despite playing loose with the ball. The free throw shooting was bad, especially Victor, but he's got a good jumper so I don't think it'll be like this very often. I think his poor FT shooting had a lot to do with first game jitters. Turnovers was just a lack of focus and getting too comfortable with the big lead. That'll happen, but it was reassuring to see the team snap back and tighten up when they cut it to 13. Turnovers haven't really been a problem this season so I don't think we'll have nights like this consistently.

I'm not missing the big picture at all. I'm aware of the problems with this team

We haven't rebounded or played defense at all this year like we did tonight

So yes, we did see something new tonight. I can't criticize the lazy play that let them back in it any more than I have. Doesn't mean I'm blind to the rest of the game.

It would just be nice to see a timeout after lazy play.

We have stretches of good and then bad play. 1 bad play seems to be followed by 3 more. Use the timeouts

He was in a slump. He shot 3-6 from 3 tonight. They ran a horns set
with Blakeney coming off an ofball screen for an open 3. Sorry you dont understand basketball.

We ran two sets and got some looks so that erases 15 minutes of terrible basketball!!!

Yea, that deep contested 3 he shot early in the clock was terrible. He waived off Simmons on the play too

Sure we have. In the 1st half of the McN, Kenn and USA games. That's what this game compares to. GW is not a Houston, NC St or Marq. And in the second half of the aforementioned games we came out in the second half just like tonight.

We were out scored 43-40 vs McN, 48-47 vs Kenn and tied vs USA 38-38. Tonight was 36-34. It's the exact same pattern we've seen with the exact same problem areas. A couple different players now but nothing was different in any of our rent-a-wins.

Now, with a duplicate performance you may try to convince yourself that we looked better but there nothing to point to improvement or being ready for a tougher test. We all want very badly for this team to get their act together. I'm very sceptical it will happen.

Well that is interesting since they were both season bests.

Rebounds:
McNeese 39, LSU 46 (+7) - 70 points
Kenn 40, LSU 37 (-3) - 69 points
USA 39, LSU 37 (-2) - 66 points

Gardner-Webb 35, LSU 54 (+19) - 57 points

It was by far our best rebounding performance of the year. We had been pathetic at it all season.

but there nothing to point to improvement

Well except for those damn facts posted above.

Rebounding and defense were undeniably improved. You're the blind one here if you didn't see it.

And in the second half of the aforementioned games we came out in the second half just like tonight.

And I criticized the team for it. Not sure what else you want me to say. How am I blind about something I've pointed out and criticized several times?
