Great. Our secondary sux.
No. Wait. Look at the other 2's stats. Our secondary is stout.
No. Wait. That wasn't due to the secondary. That was our D line forcing pressure.
No. Wait. Our o line must've been dominating our lackluster D line. That's why the immobile Brennan had such a completion %. Couldn't be because of quick processing, quick reads, quick check downs, quick release, arm strength and accuracy.
We can't run it in, in the red zone. Our O line sux.
No. Wait. Our D line dominates red zone.
WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN ?!!!!!
(the yearly deciphering of scrimmages not seen)
A very smart poster!

What about those stats dispel the notion that there is a competition? Each QB had b/t 14-16 passing attempts in scrimmage 2 and Brennan had 4 more than the other 2 in scrimmage 3. All this little bit of information shows is who may be leading that competition right now, not that there is or isn't a competition going on.
Even if we combine the two, they're still all getting a comparable number of reps, and these numbers don't show plays where McMillan and Narcisse ran the ball, which I'm sure would be a relevant portion of their reps.

Narcisse wasn’t 10 for 10. And I wasn’t writing down stats but he looked closer to Brennan than the stats they threw out there. Both of them look like a downgrade from Etling at this point. They do have the remainder of the spring and all summer to get better. And they are both more physically gifted than Danny. But right now, it’s hard to see us having the expected upgrade at QB.

Why does everyone assume Narcisse is a runner
Orgeron himself said he would have had 100 yards rushing in the last scrimmage. 100 yards out of a QB says a lot.

There is "always" a competition. Brennan will start.

This is what I've heard about Narcisse from a friend of mine on the training staff. He throws a beautiful ball, but has had trouble with his timing. A lot of balls just in front or just behind the receiver.

I guess Brennan is just like John Elway.

He’s gonna figure out he isn’t starting at some point. Like when he isn’t starting.
I think The chances of us keeping him long term are low if he isn’t the guy.

If you think about it the competition talk is due to LSU having 3 scholarship QBs on the roster. He’s talking up open competition to keep all three on the roster. If he comes out and names a starter one of the two backups will more than likely transfer. It’s all ego stroke. Sad but true.

Long time from now and Miami.
We do this every year. If by the first game they've all had fair shakes and similar situations and one is named starter, then it just might be a scenario where he earned. We did the same when BH looked good in practice and some you same folks were on the opposite side of a similar conversation.
I would hope that we are giving them all the same opportunities in similar down/distance, 1vs1 and so on, and plays allow them to be their best. if 10 of LN passes are from the 1 yd line in fade situations to Dillon
against Greed and MB is passing from the 20 against Eric Monroe in the slot, all the stats we mention are garbage.
Too many factors. Just like the first scrimmage where MB was not the most prolific QB. I just hope that we trot the most prepared QB who can make the most plays for us against Miami, bottom line. I want the guy who will make plays period.

Brennan is 100% the starter barring injury.

Some guy around here bumped into Etling in an airport bathroom a few weeks ago and said that McMillan was a lock.

The sooner a QB separates themselves and establishes themselves as the starter, the better it will be for the whole team.
Don't think these stats demonstrate that in any way but...
glad Myles had a good afternoon. Solid Line.

Btw you Brennan fan boys be prepared to lose Kardell Thomas in the process. He's been pretty vocal about wanting Narcisse to start

I want a guard’s opinion deciding who my QB is like I want a fricking hole in my head.

I feel pretty confident saying his opinion is a lot more important than yours

One thing I've learned (Since Spring 2014) about LSU practice reports:
Never believe LSU practice statistics and never believe there's a true open QB competition.
Some of the truth will be revealed during the spring game when we see who doesn't get a fair shot with working with the 1st team offense in a game-like situation.
