This team is playing without a top 5-6 bat and an all-sec defensive catcher. Get Dugas and Millazo healthy and this team will be poised to peak at the right time. Johnson and his staff has done a tremendous job managing this pitching staff. This team has the talent to beat anyone in the country. It’s all about playing well at the right time and I don’t think we have peaked yet. Last 4 series and Hoover will be interesting, I got a feeling the Tigers are about to get hot!

You are dead on.

The timing of Dugas returning can be huge. Also, I love Pearson in right and leading off. Dude has really quick hands at the plate, and seems to hit most every ball hard.

Morgan simply must sit for a while. Hindsight….he should have sat this weekend and the week prior or following. Get him healthy, and this lineup can and will improve. And that is saying something.

Curious if Jay will use defensive replacements in the future? Gio is available as well as Stevenson. Time will tell.

We can’t afford to sit him. If we could he’d probably be sitting to get healthy.

Is there a timeline for Dugas to return? Or Milazzo?

Or bust Kramer’s lip, whichever is easier.

Milazzo can't start. You don't go to Omaha with a BA below .200 in your starting lineup.

I don't care how good Milazzo is behind the plate, you can't afford to have an automatic out in the batting lineup. I had my fill of that with Hal Hughes.

Morgan has slowed with the injury. Maybe at least throw the ball into his glove. He has to make circus catches on most of the throws

I think there’s definitely a spot for him in the lineup. If he’s batting .200 but is much better defensively than McManus or Travinski, he needs to be there. Our problem isn’t hitting, it’s defense and Alex gives us a huge boost behind the plate defensively. We’ll still be top 4 in the league in hitting with Alex in the lineup

Dude, what? Do you happen to remember all the runs we've given up because of passed balls or stolen bases? And keeping those runs off the board, wait for it, HELPS THE OFFENSE.

We need to help our defense any way we can. We need Milazzo.

If it keeps other teams from scoring more runs, you absolutely can.

Didn’t UCLA win the whole thing with like every starter batting in the 200s or lower?

An end of 21 Bianco would help too if Dugas is our awhile. Against a lefty, we need another RHed batting OFer. He’s done it once.

That was one of the first few years at TD Ameritrade if I recall correctly. UCLA plays small ball and they had manufacturing runs down to a science. That translated to them being able to score easier at the new park when they were still using the dead arse balls. Since then the balls have changed and teams know how to adjust to the park. Point is technically youre right, but that doesnt work up there anymore. At least not like it did then.

Can't win a championship commiting 2 or more errors in 15 games. One year away 'IF'JJ recruits some top talent to handle routine ground balls.
