I really believe this could be the deepest pitching staff, from top to bottom, PM has ever had here.

Because doughty has been dh vs rightys. Today, vs a lefty, travinski was dh.
When going against lefties, cabrera plays center and gio gets pulled. Going against righties, doughty dh’s and dugas plays 2nd, with gio in cf and travinski sits.

And once next week, and likely in the opener, we will face Sommer, a lefty

Ahh ok. I was talking strictly field positions. I haven't paid as much attention to the movements at DH. I didn't know what you meant by Doughty staying in the line up, but I get you now.

Russian said he is having TJ surgery. Had a pop in the elbow recently.

Actually it’s the same every scrimmage. We pitch our stud pitchers against the gold team. They get shut out..rinse..repeat. We probably have our best pitching staff ever. Don’t be surprise when we lose 9 games.

He hurt his ulna nerve while pitching Monday night.

From now on can we just refer to the new scoreboard as “ell’s scoreboard”?

It was a nerve? I was told it was a ligament in his elbow.

Hampton hit two deep fly balls to right field, so at least he's making good contact now. He also made a nice diving catch in right field to rob someone of a hit.

LAGARRIGUE is back on the on-line roster and had his name on the back of his jersey, so I assume he filled the 35th roster spot.

There is no way Hill is going to be kept out of the weekend rotation for long. That dude seems like he’s pitching pissed off at the world and I like it

They are easing him back slowly so I believe he will be in the bullpen for a while. You have 3 legit weekend starters and Walker can be there if he needs to be so no need to force him to throw a bunch of innings early.

Your "starters" went 2 for 14 in 3 innings, with 5 walks. So they reached base 7 of 19 times and scored two runs. This is in 3 innings, not 9. THREE.

If we have an OBP of near .500 we will win every one of those games.

This is what the new hitting coach is all about. Getting on base by any mean necessary is the name of the game.

To quote Brad Pitt from moneyball “he gets on base, do I care if it’s a walk or a hit?”

Yeah. Really looking forward to having a better approach at the plate. I think you will see a lot more opposite field hits under Smith.

Hitting is always lagging this time of year. It will heat up as the weather heats up.

Just need those arms to stay healthy.
