Hill’s velocity isn’t what Theriot was saying last week. He said middle to upper 90s

It's January, and cold man.

And as always, thanks Scuba.

Any reason why Duplantis wasn’t playing today?

Scuba, how good is Garza at the plate in your opinion?

I heard, from an unofficial source, that Dups was having back spasms.

It's pretty cool that we threw 4 pitchers that all were over 90mph.

It's even cooler that it was three freshmen and a JUCO transfer (junior).

Also, Saul Garza might be a very fun player to watch this year.

I didn't see the Sunday scrimmage but from what I have seen, he looks like your typical power guy. I think that he will be a decent batting average hitter with some serious pop in his bat. He has two hits with 3 strikeouts in twelve ABs in the four scrimmages I have seen this spring. Maineiri is trying to keep him from over doing things with his knee during practice which indicates to me that he is counting on him to play a significant role on this years team.

I doubt that Theriot has seen him pitch more than once. In his last three outings this spring, he has topped out at 92mph. His max velo in the P&G world series game was 89mph.

Thanks Scuba!
Trying to catch up with your scrimmage posts but has Walker or Gilbert pitched at all yet?

I have not seen Walker or Gilbert pitch in a scrimmage this spring. I don't think either pitched in the Fan Fest scrimmage from the limited info I've seen. Both warm up down the right field line with the other pitchers during pregame.

Ill be very curious to see how Gilbert throws when he does. I’m glad we’ve seen Beck throw.

I may be forgetting someone but I think Hilliard, Labas, and Storz are the only pitchers unavailable right now. I still haven't seen McMurray throw but I don't know his status.

I think McMurray is in that same category. He's not ready to throw from a mound yet full speed.

Having Hillard throw tomorrow will be huge and I hope he's able to go.

As am I. I feared for the worst with him. I still think he was handled poorly over the summer by his summer league coach. (Too many stress innings, too many pitches)

Glad to see he's able to throw.

I'm really hoping for Gilbert's sake he's back to his sophomore year form. He could be a big boost to the team as I think some people are kind of counting him out when they talk about expected contributors for this season.
