i ended up having to leave when cam was entering the game. They played a full 18 innings. not sure what happened after i left.

hitting wise-

Fry(HR) looked good, Neal looked good, Jones looked good. Brown i think walked but his at bats were really good. Overall we looked good hitting.

the transfer from UCLA looked lights out. Had McNeese swinging and missing all over. Little.....man they straight up rocked him. i was along 3rd base line so couldnt tell why it was happening but he must have been missing spots cause he was 95ish on velo. but they pounded him all over the park.

sorry thats all i have. Oh and pearson was starting at 2nd, transfer from zona at lf, brown in right. everything else pretty normal.

Game one ended at 10 innings tied 5-5. Game 2 is currently bottom of 6th inning. LSU leading 3-1. Will be an 8 inning game

I’m not a BPB type, but Moffett has looked good for sure

Yea I believe that was him. It was hard to keep up with, I had my phone out and was trying to keep up with numbers. Mcneese score board was just displaying speeds where they would normally put number.

No announcer today either.

From LSUsports.net:

Nothing really new, but here it is...

quote:

LAKE CHARLES, La. – LSU outscored McNeese, 9-6, over the course of an 18-inning fall baseball scrimmage Sunday at Cowboy Diamond.

The scrimmage was divided into one 10-inning segment and one eight-inning segment. The teams were tied, 5-5, through 10 innings, and LSU posted four runs in the second half of the scrimmage while limiting the Cowboys to one run.

Hayden Travinski and Ethan Frey each homered in the first half of the scrimmage to highlight LSU’s offensive output.

LSU’s fall practice period will continue for two more weeks, and the Tigers will play host to an exhibition scrimmage versus UL Lafayette at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday, November 12, and the annual Purple-Gold World Series November 17-19.

thanks Lester, came to post this. I was pretty damn sure it was Neal batting.

I will say Braswell, Brown and Bingham all looked damn good overall.

Little was the only pitcher that got absolutely rocked. He allowed at least 5 of those runs.

ETA: LSU should do more of these vs instate schools. it was completely sold out, people were tailgating starting friday night, great atmosphere.....but McNeese should have treated it like a game and had announcer and music going. McNeese could have sold tickets for $10 and prolly sold out. Really helps a school like McNeese but also helped LSU have a road game and see different pitching/hitting.

If there’s anyone who deserves tix to these exhibitions, Scuba is real high on those lists.

He watches every scrimmage/practice and posts detailed summary stats on how our players perform. He wasn’t begging.

The NCAA allows two fall exhibition games. They don't limit the number of innings played. Schools can schedule any other school they can make a deal with to olay.
There was an announcer present at the start of game one. He announced the national anthem and welcomed the fans to the game against the national champions vs the McNeese Cowboys. Then, he took the rest of the day off.
