Good deal, thanks. Trying put as much data into stat spreadsheets I've built as I can.

It still all comes down to his bat...CPM said he would find a place for him if he hit like he's capable of doing...when Wilson rep showed up to hand out new gloves, CPM told Nick to get a 3rd baseman glove, 1rst baseman glove and a catcher's mitt. As for 3rd base position, they thought Robertson was leaving, so Smith would be at short and Nick would compete with others for that position, or even DH

Chances he doesn't get here?

Higher than I would have thought if I hadn't seen him ranked as a top 15 JUCO draft prospect by Perfect Game.

In my own personal projections that mean absolutely nothing, I'd say he's a medium risk (high, medium, low are the only categories in my system).

He's not like the Pearson kid that would take a miracle to get to campus. (He throws 100+)

He's probably athletic enough to play corner outfield too, I would imagine.

i've always thought that as well, but he's never played outfield. He's got a strong arm that would fit those corner outfield positions!

And if Adams or Templet had given PM any piece of mind at 1B/the plate, he'd still be competing with Slaughter along with Reid.

We can go back and forth on the "ifs". Again, I don't doubt at all it's what y'all were told. But you can't deny he helps shore up the future at catcher, a spot that, while not always having a clear number 1, will for the first time in a long time be a very big question mark next year.

I'm with you there...i'm ecstatic that he's back behind the plate! I've always thought that is where he belongs! He told me he's getting very comfortable being back at catcher and loves playing that position!

It can't be easy to judge right now either based on losing AC at such an odd time. He was going after some pretty big prospects that I think he gave us a much better chance with over the current staff.

I'm really hoping that the current staff works hard to build relationships with the current signees and doesn't just take them for granted. It's an incredible class that was put together by AC, but it could get destroyed by the draft.

There are at least 4 pitchers in the class that I would be surprised if we see any of them in an LSU uniform. There are a couple that are developing their way into potentially high draft picks.

With the huge senior class, the draftable talent in the junior class, and the way the recruiting class is set up, next year could be a rebuild.

I still think Nick has a very good shot DHing this year.

I totally agree with you if his bat is there! He will definitely spell Pap at catcher as well.

This is what worried me when he named Cain the recruiting coordinator. He hasn't had that experience and it's pretty much an unknown what he'll do on the recruiting trail.

if you are the parent or relative of a player. I'd avoid the in game threads.

But why?

I'd think this person will be at the majority of the games anyway.

Thanks for the advice...i'm honestly not sure how i'm going to handle that! In a perfect world my son will never screw up and everyone will love him! :) I also believe in proving yourself on the field and playing to your potential. So far, he's played up to his potential at Catholic High and won state title...played up to his potential at LSUE and won JUCO World Series! Now he's playing where he's wanted to play at since he was 8 years old...hopefully he continues to step up!
