This thread is so awesome. We are debating where to put all of our awesome players. Not arguing over benching non performers.

Well, that'll come a few weeks into SEC play, no doubt.

Yeah, I'm prepared to start the Bench Bregman campaign as soon as he goes hitless in the first game vs Vandy.

I also think Fraley will be the next great LSU outfielder. He just has to wait his turn.

Hell you can throw in DeHart as well, he has a lot of potential.

However, they are, literally, the 6th and 7th outfielders on this team at this point.

So fricking deep.

Damn that was quick.

You put a little too much stock into metric stats, especially since it's a small sample of 6 games.

I hate how no one mentions Sciambra - a guy who literally put his neck on the line for this team. He's a solid hitter and OF, and definitely deserves to be in the mix.

Eh maybe, but I'm just trying to post stats & figures that aren't really accessible directly via LSU.

Different perspectives.

I'm kind of indifferent towards the metrics way of looking at things. I just think it's a little to early for people to start pulling those stats out in an argument considering one at bat can drastically change some of them at this point.

It's defiantly interesting to look at though. Do you calculate them all yourself? I think the LSU account on gamechanger.io does a good bit of those automatically.

I actually lean this way as well. But they are a good supplement to seeing how the player plays.

I agree, but I'm trying to build some consistency so I don't just randomly throw stats out of nowhere once SEC play starts.

Nah, I suck at math. I have the iScore Baseball App.

I've checked, they don't have any advanced metrics like quality at-bats, runs per appearance, first-pitch strike %, etc.

They do, but maybe you need a premium account I'm not sure. You click on the season stats page then there's three tabs right above the stats, first tab being standard.

I've been saying since last year, lead off with laird and McMullen 2nd
Probably doesn't matter too much though
As of right now McMullen leads the team in rbi's
I'd have
Lf laird
Dh McMullen
Ss bregs
2b hale or 3b Ibarra
1b Moore
3b Ibarra or 2b hale
Rf foster
C chinea or scvic
Cf stevenson

That place has to be intimidating to college kids who are used to playing in fromt of a few hundred on a good night.

I recently talked to a kid who played for Sacred Heart last year at Alex Box. It was the highlight of his career; he's still buzzing about the 10,000 fans and, oddly, the K-Lady.

He said he struck out twice but doubled in his last AB. The LSU third baseman (Ibarra?) laughed at him when he stole third while down about 8 runs. They apparently had a good team because they made the tourney, and they beat the other two teams (Ms St and SLU?) at the Box.
