Funny how one poll thinks Virginia beating ECU was big and the other not so much

Virginia is solid, no doubt. Let them be #1 now, makes no difference to me.

These polls mean less than nothing this early in the season.

So how does this poll make sense. Stanford sweeps 3 games from Rice yet Rice is #9 and Stanford is #18. That makes perfect sense did Rice only get 2 outs per inning or did Stanford get to use only there 2,3, and 4 hitters over and over?

Its all about where teams start. Stanford went from unranked (I believe) to 18. Would it make sense to drop Rice to #19? Thats a 14 spot drop, which is huge considering only 3 games have been played.

Winning 2 out of 3 on the road against E. Carolina is more impressive then a sweep of Centenary at this point

Winning on the road in baseball is overrated, unless you win in a hostile environment. Most schools don't qualify.

Winning against E. Carolina instead of Centenary isn't overrated.
Also, just to clarify, if LSU had been ranked ahead of Virginia last week, they would be again this week, but their wins weren't impressive enough to overtake Virginia, really that simple.

Not what I said. I was making a point about "winning on the road", not the opponent.
