Not a hard hit ground ball, no way they would've gotten the runner at 2nd with the tag, get the guy who was going to be in scoring position

Turning the DP there would not have exactly been an easy play to make. He did the right thing if the runner would have taken two more steps he would have gotten the DP.

The guy was backing up, wouldn't throwing to 2nd after getting the batter out still be a force out?
