agree to disagree. it may have been opening weekend but they got good weather and were facing extremely inferior competition. i thought it was pretty average.

My New lineup if I had to win one game today:
Stevie CF
McMullen DH
Bregs SS
Foster RF (can't stop, won't stop)
Ibarra 3B
Scivicque C
Moore 1B
Laird LF
KRob 2B

It would be hard to take Hale out of the lineup for me when he got 2 hits in both games. I'd probably have Chinea in over Moore too even though he had a rough weekend outside of his last at bat.
At this point i'm taking the offense over the defense at those two positions. And i dont even think Hale is bad defensively. Chinea is sorta a liability though on defense.

Hale let a ball go through up the middle Saturday that Robertson would have gotten to and Moore is by far the best first baseman. Scivicque has limited range and Chinea doesn't look comfortable there.
I agree that Hale is still the regular. But if I had to win one game I'm going with that lineup.
ETA: I'm trying to force myself into picking one over the other in multiple spots even though I know it's still a pretty fluid situation

Apparently our players are too small now. Some of these threads

the annual overreaction threads are pretty comical.

Hale will be more productive at the plate. Kramer has a high motor out in the field which is nice, but Hale is more than adequate out there. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Hale slide to 1st to test those waters a time or two.

thats pretty speculative.

I agree, but on a team that lacks hitting i think we need to give up defense in several spots. For me this is one of them.

it's all speculative bbap. It's what this whole place is for.

random comment: your whole perspective changes when you have a face to go with the guys you've been talking to for years.

Eh...at what point is it not ok to strand so many? Just so I'll have a point of reference to be concerned.
