I was curious so I looked up Romero's batting average as a catcher vs DH. My numbers my be off by an AB or two.
Including today he is batting .400 (18/45) as a catcher, and only .179 (5-28) as DH.
I guess he's one of those guys that needs to be part of the game. I think we should give him some more starts behind the plate. Especially since he's struggled as DH.

It's not that they can't it's that they choose not to. Most athletic departments around the country operate in the red. Baseball has more games than any other sport and the second largest roster behind football. With all the travel involved, especially for northern schools who can't play home games in February, it gets really expensive, and some schools just choose to not fool with it
