I'm always curious about the conversation when the coach come out to the mound, and everyone knows he is yanking the pitcher. Yet they usually have an extended chat at the mound before the new pitcher leaves the bullpen and heads that way.
What are they talking about? Are pitchers so fragile that they require an explanation? Or is there something else behind it?
