we're just a pitiful hitting team. Built for small ball but unable to execute it. We just don't handle the bats well enough. We needed a Friday night starting pitching effort today and we didn't get it.

Exactly. Already been talked about a ton, and some will disagree, but we just keep recruiting scrappy runts. They're good players but at some point you gotta get some pop in the lineup. Deichmann can't do it alone.
