I do not claim to be an expert of LSU baseball. I follow it and do watch it when they are on TV and sometimes stream it but I would admit I am more of a football, basketball guy. That being said I can swear this is exactly the conversation every season at the beginning of the year. Team sucks. Aren't hitting. fielding errors. Then miraculously every year it turns around and by end of the year they are competing for regional or super regional. Is it just me or is that what happens every year?

Clearly you don’t follow LSU baseball very closely if all it takes to impress you is competing for a regional. Let’s bump up the expectations just a hair. Pretty soon y’all are going to be bragging about how Mainieri goes from a “terrible start to pushing hard for a .500 record to close the season out, which is really impressive in this age of parity in college baseball”

You missed the part where we crumble in either the regional or super regional when all the issues we had early in the year unexpectedly flare back up.

Mainieri is stealing money from LSU. He should give his salary back to the university. Dude is a fake.

Baseball program is stale. PM’s team are getting worse each year. Yes it just the beginning but we already know this team can’t hit. We are learning the pitching staff is not as good as we thought it was going to be. Yes we going to make a regional. But to think we use to own the baseball world. We can still own the baseball world but we keep this guy around who refuses to recognize he needs to change his approach of the way he looks at hitting. Lsu hasn’t hit the ball good in years.

I think your point alludes to an issue nobody really touches on here and was prevalent under Les Miles Football program. When you have a flotation device coach like CPM and Les around for so long you create a generation of ignorant fans who don’t understand championship baseball. You can be a good to almost elite program and still be under a very real ceiling while having a bunch of fans not even recognize it’s there.

LSU baseball team was top 10 recruiting class ? But we can’t hit the baseball ? That’s fricked up.

I don’t want to get in chicken’s naughty list so I am going to take a break. I’m too upset that this program is getting worse.

Peace fellas. I’m out. I apologize for being upset but it is because I care just like you do.

The rant often treats baseball like football, not understanding that in baseball, you don’t have to win every game and early season losses don’t matter nearly as much.
