Javi moving to dugout has not helped.
Hitting will keep this team out of Omaha again!

Good, please jump off the bandwagon with the other idiots. We lose one game and we aren't going to Omaha. smh

I'm not talking about one game.
This team will not make Omaha with Javi as hitting coach.

Another difference between those teams and PM's more recent ones is the size and lack of lefty sticks in the lineup. He seems to favor smaller righties for some reason.

The championship teams.

What are you talking about? Our leadoff hitter that has an OBP of around .700 is left handed. The fastest guy on the team is left handed. One of our DH is left handed.
This post makes no sense. We have had some power hitter that were left handed but we have had just as many right handed hitters. Again, the game has changed. It isn't about the three run homerun like it was in the nineties and early 2000s.

Vs righties we have moore laird and sciambra batting from the left side. How many lefties would you like? We had nothing from the left side last year and fell 1 game from omaha.

I was responding to the guy comparing teams from 97, 00 and 09 and some of their losses. I didn't start the comparison. I agree the game has changed, but I still see teams crush the ball, just not ours.
Is this the first year the weather hasn't been optimal for baseball?
I know we'll be fine, just get frustrated with our recent approach sometimes.

It is about having balance in the lineup and the ability to handle the bat and run the bases. We have the guys that can score from second on a hit or go from first to third on a single that we haven't really had in the past. We have a leadoff man that gets on base will take a walk and can run. This lineup is balanced with a mix of lefties and righties. There are also a mixture of lefties and righties on the bench. This lineup is much more balanced and deep than the last couple of seasons.

Not to mention the ability to run balls down in the Outfield, which killed us last year after Schiambra went down.

wHo do you see crush the ball? It sure isn't our opponents.
The approach at the plate is fine. Sciambra works the count deep everytime up there, isn't afraid to hit with two strikes and will take a walk
Jones' approach this year doesn't even compare to last year. He is getting in two strike counts and laying off close pitches or fouling them into the net which he was hacking and missing at last year. This is enabling him to find a pitch to his liking and hit for a lot more power this year.
You may not like bunting but the approachdrom the players is fine.

Exactly cinci. Outfielddefebse is huge. I believe before it is allsaid and done rhymes will not be in the outfield. He flat out can't playthe position. Maineri has made changes before to improve the defense and I think you could end up seeing mcmullen get a chance in RF and rhymes to dH. This would also add a left handed hitter to the lineup.

I watched Florida the past couple years crush the ball. Also watched a team from New York last Spring crush the ball in Baton Rouge. There are others.
I don't know, you're right about Jones. I'm hopeful that everything starts clicking.

Considering the majority of opposing pitchers are RH,the matchup advantage would seem to favor a lefty heavy lineup. While I realize big lefties are at a premium, having only 5 on the entire roster is questionable. And I am speaking of position players,of course. As for falling 1 game short, maybe if LSU would have had some legit lefties to combat all the RH pitching SB threw at them it would have been a different outcome.
