OMG !!!

This is bad. I saw people saying on this board yesterday that if a team isn't ranked in the top 10 the coach needs to be fired.

Bye Paul Mainieri. You had a decent run.

Pretty much all the big rankings are out now. 10-17 which, IMO, is generous.

I hate preseasons polls, especially for baseball where pollsters are so damn slow to move teams around because of biases and incorrect notions from previous seasons and even the fall. I'd like to see the top 10 preseason rankings compared to the CWS 8 for the last 10 years.

Not that I put a scoche of shite in preseason rankings but I don’t see how Florida gets that much respect and we don’t when they lost all of their starting pitching to the draft as well.

I’m not buying we’re only the 6th best team in the SEC

Nice try. Get back with us when O wins a title and plays in another title game. I'll never hear back from you.

Jumping to conclusions?

The thread where I heard the top 10 FACT, had nothing to do with football.

Don't really care to go back 10 years, but last year's preseason top 10 for D1 baseball was (bolded made it to Omaha):
1. TCU
2. Florida
3. FSU
4. USC - missed the NCAAT entirely
5. LSU
6. NC State - 3rd seed in Lexington Regional, lost in semis
7. Vandy - 2nd seed in Clemson regional, lost in supers to OSU
8. Oregon State
9. UNC - #2 national seed, lost in regional to Davidson
10. ECU - missed NCAAT entirely

SO 5 of the preseason top 8 advanced to Omaha. #9 was the #2 overall seed but lost in their regional. #7 lost in Supers. Big misses were ECU, USC, and Nc State. Overall, last year was pretty damn good.

This made me laugh since it is coming from the biggest kissing-bandit fan ever. Don't project your unrelenting love for Tom Herman onto me and the LSU coach.

I'm sure there are quite a few Big 6 hires who have actually had losing records.

Too low but that is okay.

Solid O, steady D and a pitching staff that will be the pleasant surprise

pointing out your hypocrisy isn't a live affair for Tim Herman.

Went and looked at 2016 just to see if they did well the prior year:

Top 10:

1 Florida - 0-2 in Omaha
2 Louisville - #2 National Seed; Lost Super to UCSB
3 Vanderbilt - Regional Host; Lost Regional to UCSB
4 Texas A&M - #4 National Seed; Lost Super to TCU
5 Oregon State - Missed Tournament
6 Miami - 0-2 in Omaha
7 LSU - #8 National Seed; Lost Super to CC
8 Oklahoma State 2-2 in Omaha
9 California - Missed Tournament
10 N.C. State - Regional Host; Lost to CC

So 2016 was much worse. Just 3 appearances and 2 Omaha wins in the top 10.

Really? We just came back from a national title appearance

And i would say it would be normal for anyone who replaces essentially is entire weekend rotation to not be ranked in the top 10 to start the year
