Bama showed...
Posted by oldtrucker

That if you have an elite QB and receivers, you can beat any great defense. See LSU 2019. Once Ga had the lead they should have pounded the rock behind that huge line and wore down the Al defense. They had no shot in a high scoring contest. Run the ball, run the clock, wear Bama down. Alabama was suspect all year against the run.

Also proves what good coaching and good game preparation can do for you as well.

Also, for one key game, Saban is tough to beat. He used the underdog role to motivate his team.
I agree in college football it is critical to have explosive plays on offense and a great QB. I still want a good defense though and Bama's defense did enough yesterday.

The blueprint was there from the LSU game.
Cannot believe that with all the athletic freaks on that UGA defense they didn’t have blitzes coming from every direction.

Bama did to GA what they did to LSU during the Les Miles era. Make LSU’s mediocre QB beat you.

Showed Kirby didn't watch film. Blitzing defenses, not as talented as GAs gave Bama hell. So, don't blitz and lose. Kirbys apple fell further from the tree than they thought.

Alabama showed what happens when your o-line plays well. Don’t know where that line was all year but they single handedly won the game for bama.

Btw, that freshman TE for the GA was amazing. Makes one forget about a certain Tiger TE that transferred to GA

???????? Bama was fourth in the country in rush defense at 82 yards per game.

They blitzed, but it was all predictable, slow developing blitzes from deep linebackers. They should have been sending blitzes from the slot, putting backers up in the A gap and sending them, ETC. GA gave the bama oline enough time to see the blitzes coming and react. They also frequently lost contain on young, let him get outside the pocket whenever he felt like it. Didn’t look like they ever had a spy on him. It’s almost as if they didn’t watch any film of the Auburn or LSU games.

Yeah they definitely thought they were going to get pressure with a 4 man rush and didn’t. GA really doesn’t have any good DEs. They’ve got some good interior players on the defensive line, Wyatt especially. Jordan Davis looks like he’s out of shape even at this point in the season. 2 plays and to the sideline.

Ga does not have a Smart coach, just a really dumb one

You can't win championships in college football with average QB's anymore. Kirby is exhibit A

Bama allows the second fewest YPC in the country

This is EXACTLY what I meant. They had guys who could rush, defend, and everything else and they made them do it in the most predictable way.

Yep. It’s all about the scheme and QB .
