Sorry if Germans (standard line)...

Heard some sports talk show while driving through Kansas, and the host said that Vegas now has 'Bama favored at Death Valley.

As far as I'm concerned, that suits me just fine.

How about you folks out on the Rant...?

I'm fine with that. I hope they take the #1 ranking in the AP too to be honest.

i could care less...Matheiu counted for 0 points in the bama game last year...about the only accomplishment he had in the bama game last year in bama was he downed a punt near the goal line...other than that nothing really...id rather win as a under dog anyway....haters gonna hate.

I do not believe this, and don't think the line would swing 3 points or better based on TM7...especially given his play against bama. If so....load the frick up while you can......this is classic knee jerk by people who have no clue (many fans out there).........if you saw the poll on espn.....the entire west coast and big 10 country thinks that LSU should not be a contender anymore for the NC......that is how stupid this is.

They have been favored the last two times we faced them in regular season. Worked out pretty well!

It is probably due to the market adjusting to the Mathieu news. I would imagine money came in on both Alabama and Arkansas when the news broke.

ETA: I've seen some places where LSU is still favored.

You just showed your ignorance. Just because TM7 didn't have the stats from the Nov. 3 game, doesn't mean he didn't affect the game. He made a few good tackles, once on a short pass to the tight end that he limited to a small gain. But most importantly, AJ McCarron was totally terrified of Mathieu's blitzing ability. Everytime Mathieu was blitzing from the edge, AJ knew it, and was so quick to either A) get rid of the ball for an incomplete pass or B) he ducked right into the middle of the defensive line and took a sack. Most notably this happened in overtime on 3rd down and the sack led to a 50+ yard field goal attempt.

Tyrann Mathieu affected the game way more than some people realize, and he will be missed.

Having said that, we still got this. Bring on Bama! Bring on the Trojans!

I hope that they are the consensus number one by a mile and that they are favored by 3 touchdowns come nov 3, seriously.

Does the love for Bama really surprise anyone now? I just love how we lose 1 player and it is a defensive back and that changes what they think the line of a football game should be. That cracks me up.

I agree. It will be all the more special to go undefeated, beat USCw to win the NC, and be considered the GOAT. The negative attention that TM7's dismissal will generate thru the season, will turn to a positive and Miles will get credit for doing the right thing and still producing a winner.

I heard them discuss this on the radio the other day with a gambling expert from Vegas. He said that in the NFL, if the starting QB is out, the line will normally shift 3 points in the other team's direction. He said that most other players being out won't affect the overall line very much. He then said that the loss of Tyrann Mathieu has adjusted all of LSU's lines about 1 point towards the opposition. He said that's nearly unheard of for a defensive player.

Think about that, an NFL quarterback is only worth 3 points to the spread, and yet Tyrann Mathieu, a defensive/special teams player, is worth 1 point. That's a pretty big deal.

Of course, LSU showed last year vs Auburn that we aren't a 1, 2, or even 3 man team. Down 3 starters, so what. 45-10!

I don't think you want that. That would mean that this LSU team had completely imploded during the course of it's first 7 games to warrant a 21-point spread.

Well maybe not 3 touchdowns, but a clear cut favorite. Personally I think the game will be a push by the time it actually comes to kick off. Hopefully Miss State can soften em up a bit.
