No way they drop only to 4th in the AP poll if LSU secures a 12-point win.

Pressing Jeudy on the line with 1:21 to go up by 12? Sure! Historically bad misstep by Aranda.

IF they watched the game, then they will know this was an asswhooping. I had a bama fan who came in yesterday morning saying they only lost by 5 points, I asked her if she watched the game at all and she said no then I just shook my head and laughed. The score was closer than what the game was actually like. It was domination.

no need to worry about that now, we are in a better position than ever. Worry about Bama if they get in, for now rub it in.

Honestly, it does matter. People in a month will see the score more than they remember the game.

It looks closer than it was.

If honest people are in charge of the playoff selection...they will note that Bama hasn’t beaten anybody...even if they beat Auburn.

This!

Imagine playing soft coverage, allowing A1 receivers in space and A1 marches down the field or takes a slant 80 lol

Very likely that Auburn will have three losses by the time they play Bama.

Its absolutely true.

A 2 score loss in their house hurts them further.

They got lucky Aranda screwed up

they were able to try an onside kick with over 2 min left and 2 minutes left.

nope

I hope most of our fans don't think playing press coverage with a 12 pt lead and 2 and a half min left is the smart way to play it. I still can't believe we played that way. If anything you want bama to dink and dunk down the field...you don't allow an 85 yd pass play in that situation

Against Bama? Of course it was. They make their living off short slants going to the house. Tua sits around 40% on completions 20+ yards in the air. Aranda was playing the odds.

The bottom line is that the committee will have a difficult time explaining why a one loss Pac 12 champ Oregon is not in the top 4 over a one loss non-conf champ Alabama. If Oregon, Clemson and OH St win out, the committee will have to jump Bama over one of 3 Power 5 conf champs. That scenario may be the 4 team playoff death nell.

I agree that it was a stupid call on Aranda's part, but considering that every time they scored, we answered, and they never had the ball with a chance to take the lead, anybody with half a brain can see that we controlled that game from start to finish. Sure, I'd love to have beaten them by more, but the bottom line is that we weren't even favored to win and we did, in their house, in the "win or stay home" game (at least it was called that until Bama lost). Those things should matter more than the score.

No, it doesn't.

It was about as close as 10-0 was a few years ago.

Does the offense not get any flak for going fumble, punt, punt, in the first 3 drives to start the 2nd half?

Any score there and the game is a blowout.

It didn't matter what LSU beat them by. The media loves their bluebloods. They were always going to be making an argument that puts Alabama in the playoff. By hook or by crook, Alabama will be a playoff team unless Auburn can knock them off in the Iron Bowl.

The media is only using the "well they lost by 1 score" narrative because they lost by 1 score. If it won by 12, it would be "that was a 5 point game with 2 minutes to go!"

The loud ones you hear trying to lobby are the same ones that said if Bama loses they are out before the game. Now they are all trying to get them back in because it actually happened. You think anything other than a 30 point loss would have changed that at all?
