No, it doesn't.

It was about as close as 10-0 was a few years ago.

But all people see is they shut us out at home.

This looks like we squeaked by them. We beat that arse. A fluke punt return, a trick play, and a deep ball with 1 minute left made this game respectable for Alabama.

I truly think it matters a little bit. If the score reflected a blow out, their season would be over. As it stands, the talking heads are saying they "barely lost a great game to the #1 team" instead and they should still be alive for the playoff.

you can make same argument about the punt return as well...i believe they had 3 cheap scores. Punt Return, the fake play change and then the bomb at the end...other than that they drove down the field what 3x the entire game on us...

you are a football genius if you think that was smart...and I am sure you can't tell but that is sarcasm.

Yes bama is great with slants and that makes the defensive call in that situation even worse. We should've been playing 3 deep and tackled them after 5 yd passes. I'm amazed you defend that defense because they are a great slant running team,

anybody with half a brain can see that we controlled that game from start to finish.

and we were only a recovered onside kick from possibly losing...and it was one hell of a play by Jefferson to recover that kick. I don't care because we won but don't think most of the country doesn't think well bama only lost by 5 with a chance at the end.

Does the offense not get any flak for going fumble, punt, punt, in the first 3 drives to start the 2nd half?

I thought we should've gone for the 4th down conversion in the 3rd qtr. Yes we allowed them to remain in the game. I don't think we played bad enough on either side of the ball to assign blame though.

Dude, we could have beaten them 45-0 and they would still be in the playoff hunt.

Get a grip.

They scored 46 fricking points! Most ever in that stadium by opponent.

Yes, JB shite the bed on at least 3 wide open throws that would have out us in scoring position

Does it freaking matter if it's Jeudy or Smith or Waddle or Ruggs? They're all at least as fast as Stingley.

Dude...if you think one play and 7 points are the difference between Bama remaining in the hunt or not, you don’t understand football.

Do you seriously believe that TD was the difference between a 4th/5th ranked Bama and a 7th ranked Bama? Come in now.

Alabama will be a playoff team unless Auburn can knock them off in the Iron Bowl.

If this happens, and they get in over the champs of the PAC XII and Big XII when both have 12-1 records, then you might as well resign yourself to the fact that they'll be in every year because, in the eyes of the committee, Bama being Bama is more important than winning a conference championship, and that is absolutely sickening.

I have a friend who said, "That was a close game, just like against Texas. It took a missed onside kick in both games for your team to win."

Yep, Trout, that's exactly what folks think. But Texas =/= Bama!

No way they drop only to 4th in the AP poll if LSU secures a 12-point win.

BS. Bama lost to the number 1 team in the country, they would not drop past 4th unless LSU beat them like Clemson did. Hell, Clemson beat the crap out of them and bama was still number 1 this preseason. 5 versus 12 points makes no difference in voters minds.

Pressing Jeudy on the line with 1:21 to go up by 12?

That was the right defense. That's how you stop them. Press and allow pass rush to get to QB. Stingley just got beat, that's all, he got beat. Safety was late getting help and Sting stumbled as the ball arrived.
quote:

Historically bad misstep by Aranda.

Not. Stingley should have had help over the top. Just like the CB's had all day. But safety was late reacting. It was the right defense, just wasn't executed by players. And the only way bama isn't in the CFP is if they lose another game, which I really hope they don't. Nobody giving this team credit for what they did and I want them to play a 'healthy' Tua. SO after they beat them the second time there will be no excuses!!!

Then your friend clearly doesn't understand that there's more to the game than the score. Both wins were on the road against teams ranked in the top 10. That counts for something, or at least it should.

In 2015, LSU was unbeaten, went to Bama, and lost. That 2015 Bama team, according to the media, was one of the best teams ever.

How far did LSU fall after losing to one of the best teams ever in their house?
