Bama knows rattling Etling early and hard is key to the game

Etling is why our new OC's schemes are working. He is spreading the ball around, and often does so with the proficiency to resemble Matt Flynn. Of course, this would facilitate getting Fournette the ball with some space, as opposed to the typical running-into-the-Bama wall.
Bama saw how we left him exposed, and will seek to rock him early and often.
Yet, Etling is a courageous team-player who has showed a lot of toughness. But, if we expose him to Bama like that, he might not avoid a concussion or injury in those 4 brutal Quarters of play.
If Etling is reasonably protected and stays in the game, Fournette will get in the 120-150 yards of rushing area. If not, perhaps in the 70-100 yard range.
I'm hoping Founette has his eyes on 150+.
Its gonna be a long, but exciting 2 weeks.

yea, our OL and TE's don't need to be missing any rushers like yesterdays game. Etling is going to have to grit this game out. no question in my mind that our OL blocking (and TE's and RB's) are the key to this game. i'm cautiously optimistic.

If that hit last night didn't rattle Etling nothing will

you'd think, but the law of averages says getting rocked a couple more times like that will result in an injury or concussion.

But there's a difference between getting rattled and getting a concussion. Etling doesn't get rattled.

Don't forget, Bama has a get out of targeting free card!

The bama LBers are great at stopping the run. But can they cover? Ensminger needs to go to TE early and often and back those LBers up enough to give LF some room. Etling doesn't get rattled. Let's just hope he doesn't get hurt

He did not seem rattled when older miss knock the crap out of him. He is unrattlable.

I think Tim Williams is capable of doing some rattling.

Wait, you mean to tell me that trying to hit the opposing QB is an integral part of winning football games.
Huh.
No shite, Sherlock.

It was pretty viscous and he took it well.

Trust me, this is the same strategy Dave Aranda and Pete Jenkins will employ against FR Jalen Hurts. Hurts has not been in an environment like Death Valley and they are licking their chops to release Arden Key, Adams, Beckwith, Riley and Co!

Hard to believe you omitted Lewis Neal

I deserve that. So many playmakers. I left out D. Jackson who also has been good with interceptions and FF.

Im all for a PF on us to rattle Hurts a bit....maybe even two.

EVERY QB gets rattled if you pressure them. Montana, Brady, Brees, Manning, Unitas, or Elway; they all broke under pressure. LSU better train him to throw the ball away when his clock hits three. If not, Bama will slaughter us. Hit them on early downs with quick hitters, progressing no further than the second read. If we have moderate success in this way we can put them on their heels and get some lanes for the best player on the field.
If we can get Leonard past the los we will maul them. But that's a big IF.

LF will get his yards. Unlike last year, we will have a healthy offensive line, healthy FB/TE, a different coaching staff with a different offensive scheme. Les was too predictable. Coach O and Co will call a different more balanced game plan and Dave Aranda will be ready to wreak havoc on that young FR QB!
