Good logic.
Deshaun Smith presence will make Harris suddenly start throwing accurate passes.

Almost exactly a year ago, LSU was 7-0 and averaging 39 pts/game. B. Harris was coming off a 3 game stretch of the following stats:

18-28 for 228 yds. 2 TDs and 0 INTs
13-19 for 202 yds. 2 TDs and 0 INTs
11-20 for 286 yds. 3 TDS and 0 INTs

Just putting things in perspective. I'm happy to see Etling playing well and hope he continues it for this year and next. However, all of the criticism towards Harris, Miles, Cam, etc. is going overboard.

Have you ever seen brandon harris make a throw like this?

You didn't even have to show the throw; you could have stop the video once Etling checked down to the second receiver.

bad call on the coach's part because he needs game experience with this new system.

It's not really a new system. Besides, Harris had all last year and the first 5 quarters this year to show what he could do. He doesn't have it.

And it's not like Etling is overflowing with game experience, so I'd prefer to give Etling all the snaps, to get him ready for our murderers row of the next 5 opponents.

Is anyone else curious as to how Harris would perform in this new offense?

Not in the least.

I'll add that he had 9 TDs passing with 0 INTs along with another 3 rushing TDs. Then, he gets hurt at Bama but still plays through it the rest of the season.

The talking heads at E$PN were even singing his praises.

I don't mind a plethora of down votes for giving a little balance to the discussion. It's always been in my nature to go against the grain when the mob mentality kicks in.

People will defend Etling to the death, but it's pretty sad Harris got thrown under the bus for Miles being a complete jackass and idiot.

No, he doesn't make decisions quick enough in game situations and has zero pocket presence.

This.

Game time decision making is much different than practice time decision making.

Stop giving these idiots a chance to bash the kid. I'm sure Harris is embarrassed enough and doesn't need a fanbase continue to sht on him when he hasn't play a game in weeks.

Same people will on his jock if Etling is knocked out and Harris pulls out a win against Bama. Let the sht go.

I haven't had my got dmn coffee yet baw.

And let me make sure I'm clear, I was rooting for Harris when he was starting and will again if he does start again, but I am pretty please with where Etling is at the moment.

Would love to see him avoid the big hits like he did this weekend and want to see him work on ball placement being consistently improving. I think it has gotten a lot better. I hold my breath on some throws knowing those will be dangerous when playing great DB's.

I believe he'd be great with a wide open offense

We are in better shape without Miles

I don't blame BH. He suffered the same fate with Les as other QBs. He came in and looked great in his first game - like JJ - then got steadily worse under the watchful eyes of Les and Cam. Hard to blame the kid for that.

the most popular player on any team is the back-up quarterback! At LSU, this is not the case.
