Away Game Tickets - Message from LSU

I received this e-mail from LSU yesterday.......
Dear Tiger Fan,
Thank you for showing your support of Tiger Football by traveling with the Tigers on the road in 2008!
We appreciate your patience with us as we are getting back to operations following Hurricane Gustav’s path through Baton Rouge .
Please be advised, due to the lack of package tracking capabilities with the US Postal Service, all away tickets scheduled to be sent to a Post Office Box are being held at will-call.
If you would like your tickets shipped to a physical address, please reply to this e-mail with the physical address you would like your tickets to be forwarded to. Please also advise our office if this is a permanent address change, or if you would like this just to be a temporary change for shipping the 2008 away game tickets.
If you elect to pick your tickets up at will-call, our office is open from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday at the LSU Athletic Administration Building . The will-call windows are located in the lobby of the Administration Building which is on the corner of Nicholson and North Stadium Drives in the parking lot of Tiger Stadium.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office at (225)578-2184.
Thank you,
LSU Ticket Office

Has anyone else not received this message? I have Florida tickets and haven't heard anything.......this is the biggest CF ever.......why can't they just send the away game tickets when they send the regular season tickets?

These are ALL large institutions of "higher learning".....COMMUNICATE with one another get your shipping schedules confirmed and SHIP all tickets home/away + parking passes AT ONE TIME. The key is co-ordination...saves ungodly amount of $,time and grief! Difficult to understand why something sooooo simple is often sooooo difficult !

I'm guessing your LSU tickets are mailed to a Post Office Box. If I read the email in your post correctly you sould only have a problem if you have the tickets sent to a PO Box.

I didn't get that e-mail. So, I am guessing you're right, they only sent that to people with PO boxes listed.

OK, I guess they haven't figured it out by now... i'm gonna email your post to the SEC offices, asap. Just think about what the ticket offices deal with for a minute. 60 to 70 Thousand season ticket requests (more requests than that actually), parking passes, waiting lists, Tradition funds, seat changes, upgrades, drops and all that just to satisfy the home team fans in TS, not including away tix. Just be happy you got some... I got turned down for any because there were more requested than they had.

There's ALWAYS room for improvement....and this is an area that needs it ! Just think, until just a few years back, away ticket notifications were actually NOT sent out at all...you only knew if you got tickets when you were billed to your card OR when you received them ! People complaining about the idiocy of the system, resulted in the current e-mail notification MONTHS prior to the away games along with exact seat locations ! That's what I call a massive improvement. Ticket offices have MONTHS to process orders, collect and sort tickets etc. Make a precise plan and follow it...that's all it takes !

They have had them since mid-August.

Yeah and we're only ten days into September, less than a month with a Hurricane and evacuations and all kinds of other things on the ticket offices plate in the last three weeks that they have had them.

They didn't want to mail them in South LA because the effects from the hurricane. They didn't know if everyone would be home or able to have the tickets delivered due to evacuations, damage, ect....
