I was able to score parking passes for Friday and Saturday in the East Campus Garage adjacent to the stadium on seetgeek. It was $21 each day after fees
How were you able to do that, I am on SeetGeek right now and there is not an option to buy. Wonder if that just means the lot is sold out?

I live in Austin and thinking about snagging some last minute tix

Might explain why LSU has 100 more runs scored than texas

I may not use my Friday pass because my son in law who has been to games at the Disch before says that it's hell getting out of the garage after the game sometimes. He's suggesting that we park somewhere on the street in the neighborhoods around that area and just walk to the ballpark. I told him that most shorthorn fans will leave early once the beatdown from LSU commences lol.
Saturday we will have the wives and a 9 month old so probably gonna need it that day. Not really sure what to expect from TexAss baseball logistically.

Restaurant recommendations near campus for a quick bite? We will have a 2.5 year old in tow.
Crown and Anchor is a bit of a dive but great old school burgers. NADC burger is a more high end burger spot that’s great
Any Jewboy location. They have a slider food truck, a sandwich based store front, and another location that does other stuff like tacos and things I believe. 1 owner shop that was just 1 food truck a few years ago and has blown up but hasn’t gone full torchys corportate so far.
For the 2 year old, Cabo Bobs is a chain similar to Chipotle, but quality of product is way better. Some of the best nachos you’ll find at a fast casual spot
Via 313 or Bat city pie will win over any crowd looking for Detroit style pizza.
Also Waterloo ice houses are all around town, very generic local chain that serves every type of food you can think of and usually have a large outdoor playground.
Kerby lane cafe is also very basic diner food but is a local staple out here that is great for kids
Also for the rest of the audience here, some of the recs are not ones I would usually give to someone visiting unless you have a toddlers palate that you are needing to work around

They might try to adapt to SEC culture and develop more of a tailgate culture in baseball and definitely football. A&M did it. They made their own knockoff grove after being in the SEC a few years
I doubt it, for one there is just no room for them to do so given the campus is built entirely into the downtown of the strip. Securing that real estate in College station is a lot easier

Plus Austin is really a commuter city that happens to have UT in it, the city is not obsessive or built around that school like the usual SEC town. Its gained more traction the last few years that they finally are good again, but I’m amazed how often you’ll go out to a bar strip during a college football Saturday and it’ll be a ghost town. UT grads usually bounce after college and the day drinking culture just isn’t what it is elsewhere in the south

Best basic burger/fries in town and reasonably close to the ballpark. Although, keep in mind, most of the campus with the exception of the ballpark is on the other side of I-35. Still, it's not far.
Great selection of beers on tap.

Coming with three adults. Def planning on hitting Terry Black's on Friday for lunch or dinner. What other recs you got for solid eats and good places to get beers/cocktails?

Great recommendation. The one on E 6th is amazing, and attached to a cool little dive bar.
Also makes for great late drunk food.

Most of the elite stuff is on the east side / East Caesar Chavez for more adult style dinners, Ramen Tatsuya, Uuchi, and Justine’s are a few off the top of my head. More in the center of things Upstairs at Caroline’s is an awesome happy hour spot. Great drinks and good small bites on a cool rooftop downtown.
In terms of drinks - Haymakers and a few other bars are relatively close to the stadium. Not the most lively part of town but food is solid and always have good beer specials, which are a rarity in this town.
- 6th street is going to have the most action but is the worst strip in Austin to drink unless you’re in college still- although Rainey street is fighting for the crown these days. They recently changed it where traffic flows through 6th street at all times so they have soft barricades. I haven’t been since they made that change but I’ve heard it’s been a lot slower than it used to be.
- as mentioned, don’t get too excited for Rainey. It’s been living off its reputation for a decade now and the shine is wearing off. Easier to find the fountain of youth than a drink specials on Rainey, the bars still get insanely packed with 20 year olds, and most of the charm is gone as they are currently converting all the house style bars into condos with a hotel style bar underneath instead
- East 6th is a lot of fun and more of the classic Austin uniqueness, lot of bars that appear very small and then will have a massive patio in the back, usually live music not too hard to find around there, and a food truck around every corner. Most bars on this strip are either very divey, or look like they got built yesterday. Dainty Dillo is a new bar right on the river that is owned by the same guy who owns Rustic Tap and The Armadillo Den, he’s become a bit of adopted LSU fan and usually does LSU events at Rustic Tap, although you will not leave with your wallet intact at the Tap these days

There’s almost nothing bar wise worth hitting up near campus.
If yall really want to venture out a bit more, in what is called Super South Austin there is a burgeoning bar district down Mencheca. It’s 20 min south of the river but about 7-10 bars there now that all are these big sprawling venues with a lot of games/TVs/ drink specials. Parking used to be a nightmare but they’ve mitigated that for the most part where most have a big lot behind them.

We have a group of 6 going to Saturday's game. Will there be a specific location that more LSU fans will be tailgating? First time I attend a game in Austin.

I don't live in Austin but my best buddy is a Mexican from New Braunfels and diehard Texas Fan. He knows his shite and brings me along for the ride.
We always hit up at least one of these two places when I'm in Austin with him. Both places are
1. relatively close to Disch-Falk,
2. cheap and spicy
Juan in a Million for breakfast/brunch.
Texas Chili Parlor for supper.

Awesome and thanks for the food recommendations! We’re staying at the DoubleTree across from the ballpark.
