I stayed there a few times (downtown, off Congress). I had a toilet seat "lift up" during the middle of the night on me (I can say for certain I didn't leave it up --- I had closed the lid and seat prior to bed). That same night, my co-worker stayed right down the hall and he felt someone at the end of his bed grabbing his feet.

He was the only one in the room.

I've heard stories of workers breaking into rooms at that hotel and stealing things from the rooms so I wouldn't be surprised. Not sure how true they are but when there's enough smoke... Same deal with anything directly on 6th street.

there are lots of hotels you can walk to the game from: Hampton Inn on Lavaca, La Quinta on 12th st, Sheraton on 12th st, Hotel Indigo on Red River, and there are 2 Doubletree Suites (one on 15th st and one next to the baseball stadium which is also near the football stadium and great for March 1,2,3 too) TONS of other hotels downtown that are VERY nice and $$$ and a bit of a walk but possible

Of course you have the W, Doubletree, the Big Hilton Downtown. Hilton has some pimp residences up top. Bud of mine lives up there. Also checkout around The Arboretum.

Hyatt along the Towne Lake on the SATX side. Airbnb was essentially started in Austin. Check those. Will be some really cool availability. The Omni, Fairmont is awesome.

Lavaca St Bar is the big LSU Bar for LSU fans that live in Austin. Its the one I go too. Also Shoal Creek Saloon off N. Lamar. Both Places will be lit for UT-LSU.

Any hotel in the downtown area is just a short bus ride to the football stadium.

Or Pedicab. Austin is like the US Pedicab mecca. Uber and Ride Austin will be posted everywhere. Buses. Austin does it right for big UT games.

I’ve been to Lavaca during LSUs baseball World Series And didn’t get much of an LSU vibe

Went to the Rustic Tap for the Miami game and it had a great atmosphere with LSU fans packed out and more centrally located for partying after the game

I booked at the Driskill for Thurs-Mon. I actually wanted Thurs-Sun but it was less expensive overall to book the longer stay. If we end up flying out on Sunday and burning a night, I’m still better off.

Austin has a ton of hotels. The town hosts SXSW.

Non OT Baller here, so I booked at the Days Inn, which seems like its right off campus. Probably the bad part of town, but oh well, it was a hell of a lot cheaper.

Days Inn right off 35? Not the greatest but APD beefs on their patrol for UT games. Honestly its not a bad spot bro. I drive through there often.
