If you want an example of how officials can determine a game outcome, LSU @ Auburn 2006.

Absolute worst ever /thread

That's one of the only games where I'm 100 percent sure the refs cheated.

yeah i mean there is no evidence saying or proving otherwise.

we all get it. the refs will botch a couple calls a game.it happens. but 8? and even the replay booth didn't know how to operate the DVR and press play and rewind? WTF? that's a huge red flag if there ever was one. it speaks volumes. they facked us intentionally.

miles can take some blame for the florida loss that year but that auburn game wasn't his fault.

it is hard enough to win on the road in the SEC.

this was a road game against a top 10 sec opponent at that.

then to top it off out of the 8 bad calls/no calls 4 were drive killers.

there was absolutely no way to overcome that in that situation. overwhelming odds. surreal.

Yes, it was a catch and a fumble in every state of the U. S. except Alabama on that particular day. He caught the ball, brought it down to his side, took a step and a half, got hit, ball came out and went out of bounds. Ruling on the field - catch, fumble. 1st down LSU. Ruling by the replay official and his seeing eye dog - no catch. Auburn ball. It was the first of many maddeningly bad, if not outright corrupt, calls that day. Thank you for dredging up one of the most painful chapters in LSU football history. I now feel like punching walls, screaming at my dog and throwing things at my TV.

Proof of home cooking and what the SEC office is all about. There as many Auburn sycophants in that SEC office as Bama. Its an honor among thieves, Yellowhammer state brotherhood thing. Bama hate on Aubie and vice versa. But Aubie can cheat like their first cousins and only them versus outsiders (read any program outside Alabama). Weird politics that when played out on the field results in poorly officiated/rig jobs like that awful day in Sept 2006. Why you think Aubie did not get busted over the Cam Newton thing? One of many reason I hate the War Buzzards as much if not more than Bama.

I don't fault CLM so much for Florida. Florida was just better than we were at that point of the season. We did not raise our level of play until after that game. We were a better program after mid October in 2006. But from start to finish Florida was the best team in the nation that year and most consistent week in, week out. They just were. And they proved it versus THE Ohio State in NCG January 2007.

It was my birthday. I was at that game on 2nd row of LSU student section by the end zone. Lafell was raped right in front of us at the end of the first half. So many bad calls.

Once a side note, in the first half, one of our idiot LSU fans behind us threw a half full water bottle at their eagle as the handler was walking by. The eagle fell off the handler's arm and was flopping around upside down freaking out. He tried to play it off and hide in the crowd, but everyone just pointed to him and he was kicked out

The Auburn DB was beaten badly by LaFell, so he literally grabbed him with both arms and kept LaFell from even making an attempt at the ball. IIRC, the ball hit the DB square in the back

Not to mention the 'sweep the leg' tactic

The worst part about the non PI call was that they called PI and even announced it to the crowd. Then, they talked it over again and said no flag on the play. It was fricking obvious that Doucet was interfered with

Their excuse was the ball was tipped before contact

^ he was obviously wrapped up and being tackled before the other DB tipped the ball

Could not agree more. I'm not one of those that thinks the refs are out to screw one team or another. But THAT day was a screw job. HUGE calls at critical times that were blatantly incorrect. Anyone remember the Lafell pass interference no call that game? I'm getting pissed thinking about that game. It was Les's welcome to SEC road games in the state of Alabama initiation.

This was the only game, as a fan, I have felt, LSU was cheated all game because of the plethora of horrible calls. Yes many bad calls/ no calls/ replay screw ups in other games. Many times I've seen this crap go in LSU's favor as well. However, from start to finish. this game was the ultimate BS.

The final play was also a killer although self inflicted. If Russell had not not thrown a fade pass with all kind of air under the ball to a wide open Davis, he scores standing up or simply makes a side step to avoid the one safety going full blast with no angle and LSU wins. Yes JR was under pressure but we all remember his arm strength.

That was a heartbreaking loss. That 2006 LSU team was probably the best team Les has had at LSU. I think we were more well rounded than the 2011 team.

At the very least it should have been defensive holding on Gilbert.

First time in my life I have ever seen a penalty called and announced, then have the crew get together and discuss among themselves exactly how big the checks were that they got from their bookies, Auburn alums, the SEC office or all of the above.

This game STILL pisses me off - LITERALLY!

Ball wasn't catchable. The Peterson INT v bama was much much worse.

Doucet never had control of the ball on the game winning TD at Arizona St....
