Shitty thread
Considering who started it, it is no shock. I am just surprised he didn't put a thinly veiled attack on Les Miles in there somewhere.

If the Rant was LSU's AD, we'd just go give Saban a $100 million contract and lock him in for life.

Doesn’t matter now. He’s 15-5 at Lsu. Jimbo in the same time 15-9.
sounds like aTm overpaid.

why veil it? I'm usually quite overt.

Instead our real AD hired the guy whose greatest quality he could think of mentioning in his intro press conference was the energy and enthusiasm that he brings to his job.

And we hired a coach with a career losing record...I'm not sure I understand your point.

Just because I'm curious, were you one that was shivering in his boots because aTm hired Sumlin. Remember how his wide open offenses would wreck LSU?
I do.
I do.

What’s crazy is if Alleva would’ve been allowed to fire Miles in 2015 and we’dve hired Ogeron and Canda for the 2016 season that team makes the playoffs and may have gone undefeated.

I thought past records don't count?
What about current records?

Current records
Ogeron - 9-3
Jimbo - 5-6
Ogeron - 9-3
Jimbo - 5-6

That National Championship ring helps us out in recruiting

you really think they would have a losing record if there starting QB goes out?
This is such a lame excuse. Georgia has started a true freshman qb the last two years, Alabama this year, lsu hasn't had much qb play in the last 10 years. Yet, none of them lost 6 games.
F.S.U. has more talent than any team they play for the exception of bama. All they had to do was pound the rock and play quality defense and special teams and he could win 8 or 9 games.

None of those teams rely on their QB like FSU does. Jimbo is successful when he has an elite QB. He's average when he doesn't. This year he didn't.
I agree that losing Francois isn't an excuse to go 6-6, but I think they are an 8-4 or 9-3 team with him.

Meh he can afford one bad season

Maybe that's a sign of his coaching weakness.
So Jimbo has to have an elite qb to go 8-4 or 9-3? Think about that statement.

I don't think Francois is elite, not this year. I think he is above average, but he's no Winston. We've seen what Jimbo can do with an elite QB.

wow, what coach can't? Da Chiz with Cam, Urban with Tebow, Brown with Young, Dabo with Watson.

Cam is a great example of an elite QB that was going to be elite anywhere. So is Young. Watson, Tebow, and Winston were elite, but some of that is due to how they were developed. If Winston had come to LSU under Miles he would not have been the same QB he was at FSU.
My point it, Jimbo knows what to do when he has a talented QB and he is great at developing QBs. He was forced to play a freshman that isn't anywhere near as talented as Francois and it showed. Does that excuse 6 losses? No. Did that contribute to 6 losses? Yep.
