He is a good recruiter, but not any better than the guy we fired. And honestly he has really slacked when it comes to d-line recruiting, which is his "specialty".

And which of his staff hires have been great? Canada was a bust. Sullivan was a bust. Ensminger has been okay. Meatball has been subpar. I'll cut Cregg a break because of injuries, but he hasn't been stellar either. The jury is still out on Brady. The special teams coach was a good hire. And if you want to give him credit for Bill Busch then that was a good hire, but Aranda really brought him in. But that's about it.

whats the going rate for a 55 year old career dline coach that had never in his life proven he could run a successful side of the ball, let alone a program?

Way less money so that he could hire great coaches and analysts around him?

he took way less because no one else was even offering him a coordinator's position, let alone a HC position.

We get it...

Anything bad happens = O's fault, what a loser, Ole Miss sorry arse DL coach.

Anything good happens = Any other person did it... could even be the graduate assistants and ball boys.

You are delusional.

Yep, and if he were doing horrible in these areas, you'd be the first to blame him and say it's his "responsibility" to manage these areas.

Sounds like you work checkout at walmart and don't understand how business works?

O needs credit for the DC hired by Miles staying on staff for being the highest paid assistant in history. Gotcha.

Ha... another Walmart checkout worker.

LSU finished #2 in 2011.

2012 - 12
2013 - 14
2014 - unranked
2015 - 16
2016 - handed 0 two losses

Under O
2016 - 13
2017 - 18 (bullshite last play of game, would have been 12-14 range)
2018 - 6 (counting a bullshite AM game)

So, LSU just finished ranked higher than it has since 2011.. by a lot. FACT. We are starting a season as strong as we've been as a team since 2011, and are recruiting (and recruiting needs) as well as ever.

Only those that lack objectivity will keep being douches towards O at this point.

O hasn’t even met his own stated standards.

His words when hired weren’t “we’re going to improve our end-of-year poll rankings.” They were "My goal is to build a championship program fast, very fast. I understand the expectations at LSU and I invite them, because I have the same expectations of myself and my staff."

This year will be the year that tells all.

“Best DC in country? This myth needs to die.”

It’s not a myth it’s a statistical fact that’s been argued and proven several times on this board.

“Are recruiting and hiring a good staff not a part of being a good coach?”

He didn’t recruit the upperclassmen or hire Aranda. Do you guys even watch LSU football? You have these programmed responses you automatically go to without thinking them through.

But there are only 5-8 coaches out there doing as good or better job as him right now. That’s a fact.

This is the opposite of a fact.

I would also like to see a list of the 5-8 to know exactly who is excluded.

Best DC in country? This myth needs to die. There is no evidence or rankings supporting this. Actually Aranda has never had a team ranked as high as what chavis and Pellini defenses were ranked.

Id tell you to go look up S&P+ rankings but you’re probably too ignorant to understand or believe them. If I’m mistaken, and you do, you’ll see that Dave Aranda at LSU has fielded a top 10 S&P + defense for three years in a row. The only other teams to do it? Alabama, Clemson and Michigan. Maybe, for the sake of argument, he isn’t number one. But he’s unquestionably in the top four.

There were 24 coaches who won as many games as he did last season, most of them with far less talent.
