Having money isn't an absolute guarantee that you'll get the very best coordinators. Of course it helps. But based on timing of when a coordinator leaves, who's available or willing to come, it's easy to imagine a situation where we don't get the best of the best.

Come on, fricking coordinator??? After what he did at USC and LSU taking over a 4-7 team at USC and a 4-5 team at LSU and turning the programs around to winning seasons and national rankings, you think he wanted or be offered to be a lowly coordinator.
Oh yeah, that's right you hang your hat and dick on a guy who coached for a total of two years and in his second year finished sixth in his conference even though he had by-far the most talented team.

Yeah, even if you do have a ton of money to throw at an "elite" coordinator there's no guarantee that that hire will even work out or that that coordinator is as good as people think or hope. The bottom line is that putting all of one's eggs in the basket of this assumption that will always have the very best coordinators is risky... to put it lightly.

When I saw this thread approaching 600 posts, I knew it had to be the same children arguing about the same thing. Honestly, don't you have anything meaningful in your lives? No one wins the argument, and it's a little sad.

so he turned down coordinator offers to become lsu's dline coach? In 29 of his 32 years no one thought enough of his coaching to give him a coordinators job.FACT. No one but our clown ad was willing to give him a coordinators job.

You do realize the guy you are trying to tout wound up in sixth place in his conference.
In their last 7 games one coach went 4-3 with more talent than everyone they faced in conference while in their second YEAR on the job. The other went 5-2 with a short staff and no OC or special teams coach and had been on the job for LESS than two months and didn't have the most talented team in his conference.
Kisser loses over and over, no matter how I try to look at it. Finishing in sixth place in a conference where you have the most talent is not a good thing. Sorry !!!
